I've heard that the CFO seminar includes an interview where my girl will be asked such questions as What is My mothers maiden name, my birthdate, etc..
My question is, how does the interviewer know my mothers maiden name? As far as I know, all the CFO needs from my fiance will be her passport and visa copies. Is there something about this interview that I'm missing?

My wife just attended the CFO aug 9. Yes, there was a one on one interview and they asked her questions such as my mother's maiden name, how many brothers and sisters i have, where and when did we meet, did she remember the dates that i was there in philippines to visit her, and several others. From what i can gather, this is kind of like the interview done at the embassy, but the embassy interview is for the us govt, the cfo is 4 the philippine govt. from what i understand, ur fiance will need the cfo cert to leave the philippines, but i haven't ever heard of anybody not getting it. good luck!

Hi there, i dont think they will ask that there, all that questions will be ask during the interview at the embassy. All she have do in the CFO seminar is to listen and watch a documentary about filipina's who treated bad with their foreign husband and tips what to do when bad things will happen.

Hi I appreciate your reply but that wasn't my question.
My question was.. how does the CFO know the answers to such questions as my mothers maiden name, how many brothers and sisters I have, and when we met and things like that? How do they know if she is telling the right answer or not if they don't have any information like that from me?

Man I am telling you. Government in PI is shady. It is my government but then i don't like the way they implement laws. They might ask your fiancee about your family backgroud but it does not mean they know everything. Its just their way of showing that they are doing their job and that they care. So don't worry about it. In some other consequences its better if your fiancee have an idea that way she would not fell nervous during the interview.

Claudeth attended the CFO in Cebu last year (July) and it was a 12 hour ordeal but she hung in there and got the stamp. The important thing is that the beneficiary understand that sometimes things aren't as they seem so the beneficiary needs the knowledge to get out of a situation if necessary. I commend the Filipino government for the education. I believe the number one export of the Philippines is labor and many Filipinos have been mis-treated while abroad. My two cents worth!
