Our I-130 was approved and sent to the NVC and a case number was assigned.

All this happened in July, but still nothing from the NVC at all.

The recorded line says up to 8 weeks for us to get anything from them? Really? Even though our case is "current" because it is for a spouse?

I can't imagine waiting 8 weeks to get more forms only to have to send them in to get more forms and then to do the consulate wait too.

Our case was approved for expedite at the service center (due to serious medical issues), but the NVC doesn't recongize that approval and is on their own timline.

Anyone else get a case number from NVC around July 20th, 2006? Anyone get anything in the mail yet?

Thanks,

Send an expedite request to the NVC now that they have it. They may grant an expedite as well.

Also give the NVC a call and speak directly with an operator to see if the DS-3032 choice of agent & AOS Bill have been generated yet. Any time you hear timeframes it is just like it was at the service center in that they are standard responses. You should have the choice of agent & AOS bill generated any day soon if it hasnt been already.

If you have no luck having your case expedited, you will save a lot of time by using James Shortcuts which are available in the pinned 'timesavers' thread in the NVC forum. You can also email your choice of agent once it is generated by NVC. An example of this is also in the 'timesavers' pinned thread.
