I just called the NVC and they stated that they have received the IV Bill(entered into the system on 8/8/06) and also received the I-864 on 8/7/06, which is being processed. The rep at the NVC stated that I should receive the DS-230 form in a couple of weeks. My question is how long does it take until I actually receive the DS-230 form. This is very important because I will be out of the country in a week and 2 days to see my baby.

The NVC rep is right. NVC will most likely generate your DS 230 packet on next Monday, then it will mail it out sometime late next week, so yes, in about 10-12 days from now, you will receive your DS 230 packet. Why didn't you express mail your IV fee Bill when you know you will be out of town during the process. Had you express mailed it right away, you would have got your DS 230 packey by now. I am not sure, what is your plans. Are you planning to take the DS 230 packet with you when you will be visiting your spouse? In that case, you can download the DS 230 part I and II from this website and take them with you, in case, you don't get the DS 230 mail before you leave for overseas. Go to the "Gallery Download" section of this website, then select K-3 forms to download the DS 230 part I and II. You can also create the DS 230 barcode sheet using James' shortcut.

It will usually take a couple of weeks. Generally, two to four weeks. Good luck

Thanks for your reply simple_male. I did express mail on the Bill but NVC stated that it takes time between when St. Louis receiving the Bill and NVC entering the info into their system. In addition, I was trying to take the DS-230 with me so that he would fill out the form and return it. Thanks a lot for the additional info on downloading the form and creating the barcode. This truly means a lot.
