Let's start off with Immigration messed up our EAD cards


We went SS office to get ss cards for my wife and stepdaughter. My wife got her card will be in the mail in 7-10 days. (whoo) Now the problem we have is that USCIS did was issue both EAD with the same Alien number. My question is, how long you think it will take to fix this so we can get the ss in time for school. and is there a charge for there mistake.

how's helen!! anyway ive got confused about ur question here " USCIS did was issue both EAD with the same Alien number " .. my question is , did u put A# in AOS form of helen's daughter??? Also why EAD???? u mean you apply EAD for helen and her daughter????? Isn't it EAD is employment authorizationa and only for K1 and not K2??????

i asked this bcos .... when i filled-up the AOS form, my son doesnt have an alien registration number or A#. but when i received our NOA's for AOS, they assigned an alien reg. number or A# for my son, so we have different number.

And in regards with school requirements for helen's daughter ...... when i enrolled my son, their school started Aug 3 here in Georgia, the PDC gave me a waiver for SS# , we told them that we're planning to get my son a SS# after i got my EAD so we cud apply together, and they accepted it.

im really got confused on your question, is it really EAD for helen's daughter???

I only knew when USCIS had a mistakes in printing into card issued, u need to send it back with a form of changing or correcting info's printed and yes with a fee to pay for sending a new card, hope other people here could have more info's for this.

It's fine i called USCIS and im sending it back with a new i765 and old card and letter and they will send me a new one and regards to why we need it you need that to get a socail secruty number.

and YES i know that in able for you to have an SS# in marriage name, is you need to have the EAD. and i knew it only for the spouse and not for the child.
