Hi everybody

just aquick note to let you know how fast and esay it was ti file the I 130 last friday at the Us Embassy in Paris

Marc ( the USC) and me were very worried at first because we had read that the embassy took only 15 couples on the basis first come first served every friday begining at noon. So we arrived at 8 am... and we were third couple on line....

We our tile arrived, we went to a first line, paid the 190 dollar fee, and then we went together to another "guichet" sorry I don't know the name in english... - and everything was in order the two G325, the photos, the passeport, the divorce certificate ( the original one from the tribunal de bobigny, not the city hall copy ), the I130 and the first part of the DS230...

then we had to wait like 10 minutes to be interviewed together by a thrid employee, how did you met, how long have you been married, what do you plan to do in the us ... and that's it...

our petition was approved on the spot, people very helpful, veryf friendly

I just have to wait for my hubby to send me the I 184, and then I'll have all then papers ready and I can sedn back the letter the embassy gave me ( only the letter, not the forms) th have my appointment. They said it would be two to three months before I have my green card in hand... youpi!

Great news, Marie!

Did you ever find out if the 15 couple limit is true or not? did the line ever fill up behind you?

Best wishes for your visa application. smile.gif

Salut Marie,

Hey I was in front of you in line Friday (the girl with the braids).

We too are waiting to fill out the I-864, I filled out mine, now I'm waiting for my mom to fill out hers and send it to us, other than that we have all the paper work except Sébastien's Service militaire record, we aren't too sure who to ask for it though.

We hope to be done with all this to move out to SoCal by February.

Bonne continuation,

Sheigh

Yes, the couple who posted the first post in this thread fits that description, and there are several stories here the same.
DCF in Paris is possible when the US citizen does not normally live in France.

thanks! It will be the ultimate greatest news! As I was not sure that they would alow us to follow such procedure as we did not get married in France.
It is really the highlight of my day!

Dear women,
I am not a resident of France, he is a US citizen. When you were at the US consulate have you met couples that filed for I-130 when she in not a France resident. He neither resides in France. We just are thinking to file for DCF from a third country, because usual process times are slow. Ny country (Russia) does not take DCF.
Thank you and good luck!

Tania,
I've not heard of Paris accepting a petition when neither party lives in France.
You might look at Cyprus or Malaysia.

Russia does have DCF available; the USC must be normally resident threre for 6+ months.
Tania

Thank you much.
Cyprus indeed offers DCF by their information.
I also searched through the US Consulates of different countries in this website and
found a few more. A very good site.
Thanks to all of them who keeps it working!

Good luck to all of you with your DCF! I did it 2 years ago and it was very efficient and fast!!! Just to answer someone's question, Yes it is still possible to file even if the USC doesn't live in France, that's what we did. We also got married in the US a few weeks before filing. Don't believe what the website says, it is not always accurate. It is better to call the consulate itself.

One last piece of advice, be on the lookout for your appointment letter: mine got lost in the mail (how unlucky can you be??) and I only found out because I called the consulate to enquire about my interview.

I can answer any questions you have. Feel free to ask!!

Good luck
