Long story but tonight at O'hare we didn't get past the check-in counter for our trip to Moldova (via Frankfurt)due to a problem with our tickets; supposedly we are re-booked for Tuesday 8:10pm, but we have to wait until Monday 7am when our travel agent opens to confirm and make sure our new tickets are overnighted to us.
Until we talk to the travel agent we won't know exactly who is at fault, but all I know is that I will not be recommending Lufthansa to anyone in the future (they were not helpful at all and just kept telling us they could do nothing for us) and I have 2 very disappointed young ladies here.
Now, with all of the problems people have with visa, green cards, travel documents, we never thought getting OUT of this country should be so difficult,
Oh yea, we also have 7 packed bags, a cat-sitter hired, no food in the house (but it is clean!) and 2 wasted vacation days.
Moral: Make sure your tickets are computer-generated and not hand-written; apparently hand-written tickets are forbidden now. Funny thing is I travelled to Moldova in 2004 with exactly the same type tickets with no problems.
Maybe the airlines and and the travel agents should get on the same page instead of causing problems for innocent customers.
