Just sent in the first round to NVC, am using James' shortcuts, and have all the docs we need (except for my joint sponsor I-864) shipped that today fedex to my brother.

If I stay on top of the NVC thing, do you think it is possible we could have an interview by xmas?

I suppose anything is possible and I wish you guys the best of luck.

It took us a little more than 3 months from the time of NVC completion to get an interview date. If that's the case, you will want to be case completed at the NVC by mid September. That might be pushing it. But, like I said, anything is possible.

Hang in there...

What a wacky journey you're having! So until he's scheduled for an interview, it's sheer speculation where you'll be spending Christmas. Concentrate instead on getting all the paperwork handled.

Now here's a thought that'll make your head spin even more: what if you go back to the States soon? Could you live with family (giving yourself a U.S. address)? Could you search for a job? Could you spend whatever wait time is coming productively, setting up a new home base?

(Think of yourselves as movie star jetsetters, who have homes in several countries.)

I thought about that last night, about going home first by myself. It would involve driving alone for 6 days though, well me and the cat. I have an old cat here (who couldn't make the *flight*), and my car - it could be done though, just not sure if Hubby would go for that idea of me alone in the car for 6 days...
