hello all!

so i'm taking a trip to go see my beau in the united states at the end of this month. i should be down there for a few months. i plan on coming home for christmas. now, if he files the k1 petition while i'm down there, can i get in trouble? would they send any package i need to him if i'm still with him? (from canada, can travel in the states for a while w/out a visa) or when i go home for christmas, if they aren't ready to interview me yet, will i be allowed to come back for a while? if i have a round trip booked? hmm, i'm puzzled.

any imput would be appreciated!!

You can go for six months but realize you need to show ties back to Canada and that you will return if you don't you MAY be refused entry to the USA.

hmm.... does my parents count? i have my return ticket booked. i left my job because they wouldn't give me a leave for long enough. but they know what i plan so perhaps a letter from them?

A good idea of showing strong ties would be

copy of a lease statement showing that you have a responsibility of domicile there...

a letter from your employer stating when you are going to return back to work.

these are just a couple.

having a return ticket and parents back home is not considered strong enough proof of ties, especially if you have a fiance in the US that you say you're going to visit for "several months". That alone is going to set off all kinds of alarms and whistles at the border.

IF they let you in this time, they may not let you back in after Christmas. You're allowed to visit for 6 months per year or per visit if the visit crosses the New Year. So if you've already been to the US this year, you would have to count that into your allowed 6 months.

I have to agree here...you need to show more than this. A lease, utility bills that you pay monthly, the job letter would have been good but it seems you quit (IF I interpreted your post correctly). Hope it goes well for you
