Anyone know what the approx. estimate wait time is between the time Packet 3 is sent back, and the interview date is actually scheduled for Rio?

I wish I knew.

I sent my packet 3 this week and now am eagerly awaiting my interview date.

For me it was super fast (the first time). Less than a month.

Actually depends, Laura will probably have her interview real fast, because her case is through Vermont, and Lis was through Texas. Carol was through Nebraska. Yours is like mine, through Nebraska moved to California, so I really can't say with these changes if they're speeding up or still Cali takes way longer than the other Service Centers still.

Actually, the service centers processing has nothing to do with the consulate processing...

Rlt had his schedule within 2 weeks from packet 3, and it was scheduled for two weeks later, but he's one of the recalled cases, like Mew.
I'll call the consulate on Monday to see if they received my packet 3 and if they have a date for me yet. Will let you know.

Ya know what I was gonna say to you Laura??? I totally forgot about it, but you could have submited the packet 3 in person and get the interview date right away... Did you know that???

Actually, I tried looking for ways to do that, but the consulate doesn't let us go to them without an appointment scheduled previously, so all I did was send the packet 3 before it actually got to me (hasn't arrived yet, actually) and will call tomorrow to see if they have a date yet.

You're right! I remember I read a post about that... Actually the US citizen was present, so you have all the consulate's door open if you have your fiance together...

I called the consulate. They received my packet 3 this morning, lady said I´ll have an interview date in 2 days, so I can call at the end of the week to know when it will be.

Barros, it was fast after the approval, which took 95 days to happen due to IMBRA. Let's see how fast I get an interview date now.

You guys, my "reaffirmed" petition was sent yesterday to the consulate. Yay! It should be there by next week!

Hopefully you all get your interview dates soon. Eliana's interview was 5 weeks after they received packet 3 but we moved it back 2 weeks so I could attend.

I called the consulate today again, to ask a few questions and to bug them about my interview. Today another lady picked up the phone and this time she said I'm on the waiting list, and there's no way to know when the date will be given. She said I can estimate to be interviewed in September, but she can't be sure, and that if I call by the end of next week she MIGHT have the date.

Geez! Waiting for the interview is nerve racking !!!

for me waiting for the interview date was ok...actually until 2 weeks ago.. I was ok now I think it is really sinking in that I will be there next week being interviewed and getting my visa

Good luck to those who have their interview coming up!! Do not be so nervous. I am sure everything will be alright. Everyone there including the guards treated us very professionaly and nice. The waiting at the consulate is what kills us though.

Don't tell me about waiting times in the consulate. Last time in Rio for a tourist visa I waited from 7 am to 1:30 pm which was when I was interviewed. And the guy was rude and asked me THOUSANDS of questions. I did get the visa though, valid for 3 months, one entry only. UGH!

I share the same feling, I'm driving Charles crazy , because he's really patient and I'm all nervous and I want answers and I want to know now when you know? Being in the dark is the worst feeling. I wish they could say your case will be in Rio xx day, your interview will be xx days after that u know?

Gente!!! Não paro de rir aqui. Eu também faço tudo por conta própria, mas continuo atazanado ele...é meu papel né, afinal de contas esse visto é para nós e ele tem que fazer a parte dele! Até advogado ele contratou e morre de rir das dezenas de e-mail que mando para o advogado, para vocês, disse que eu fico preocupada a toa. Ontem liguei do meu celular varias vezes sem sucesso para o NVC, a noite meu namorado me liga todo feliz porque tinha recebido a cartinha do NVC e ainda ficou rindo de mim e falando: Ta vendo...vc se preocupa a toa, falei que ia dar tudo certo!!! Ai...ai!!!
