I never brought a letter from the bank and had no problems, but I guess it just depends on what Consulate you go to (if they require or not). I won't hurt to bring it if you can get it.

you're well above the poverty line so i dont see any problem, but i agree, the more the better i suppose. my embassy's pretty laid back so i guess it depends on the kinda feedback you've gotten regarding the embassy in iraq
