"Post whoring" is considered SPAM and against the TOS.

by "post whoring" I mean posting one word replies 100 times a day for no reason (or things like this). If it is clear the reply was automated or was designed just to get more posts. This type of thing wastes the sites storage space and makes threads harder to read.

I have to say racking up post count is annoying, but Captain, where in the TOS is the matter of "spamming" articulated? I looked for something that covers the issue but can't find it..

Just to be clear I mean posts where people say things that are just for points. Saying "congrats" ans thngs are ok. If there are excessive and obvious then that is where it matters.

If you haven't noticed you have three hearts. LOL I think I have 4 hearts, but I have been a member for over 2 years. Now if a person has three or more hearts and has been a member for less than a year I might agree with you.

are you making a distinction between digging up old threads, making numerous polls, posting jokes and "booster" games like song and word association? or all we all equally guilty?

It is perfectly ok to be silly and post one liners. You can do that all you want. What I mean is if people go on an annoying rampage that is clearly done to disrupt the forums. I would prefer that threads are not just 100% single words unless it is something meaningful or tricky. Like for example lets make a thread where you have to say a word next that includes the first and last letter of the previous word.... something tricky and fun. Not just typing a word for the sake of typing a word. I am not sure what I am saying makes sense but I hope you get the idea.

It worked for me... I worked hard to get my first heart and it worked perfectly to make me think of something else other than the visa.

Anyhow I do not think this has been a big issue. So far there have been maybe one person to go way overboard. It is only bad when it is excessive versus just the normal chit chat and fun games.

Someone took offense to me only posting smilies but the real problem was that I was spending all my time on VJ, kind of addictive behavior so I decided to take a power for a few months. Now I don't feel like I have to post all the time and, after reading what is going on with visas and the like, I am not the expert I was three months ago.
