Full Version: Affidavit of Support & is Joint Sponsor needed ?

If you read my timeline, I didn't expect to be following up with our US Imm. but due to a weird twist of fate or something, we are going to go after the CR-1

I am in Canada as a "visitor" right now (I haven't *landed*.

When I first applied for I130 I had a high paying job, and solid work history (last 3 yrs of taxes already pulled too). I still made well above the poverty guideline this year even with taking 6 months off BUT Please just confirm, I assume even with the poverty guideline reached I need to get a joint sponsor, correct? Since I no longer have a US Job?

I am planning on asking my brother, but wanted to make sure it is needed. I feel foolish asking him...

Hi, I can't help you with your question. Maybe if you posted on the Foreign Consulate forum you'd get someone to help you out. smile.gif

Why would you ask this in the Foreign Consulate forum rather than here ???

The way I see it, the requirement on the I-864 is that your Income must be 125% of the current the poverty line, since you do not have any Income (US based) you do not satisfy this requirement and will be requried to satisfy this through other means such as assets or a joint sponsor..

Beast of luck to you good.gif
