Dear Friends,
On March 2001, Immigration officer just permitted me to stay for 1 month and they said If I overstay, my visa will be cancelled and they let me go. They didnt mark anything on my visa or passport page. So now is this a deny or a resfuse to entry?,
Thanks.

Depending on what you have said, i dont think its a denial or refused entry, The officer gave you an option, and if you left the country on the 1 month notice and you have a visa now, yea , you can go tot the USA , but again you have not given a full descriptin of your situation.
On what basis did you get the 1 month stay. if you can provide more on this then the forum willbe able to help you..

There were no reasons, It was my third trip to USA and at JFK airport, officer first stamped 6 months permit, then he changed his mind and he took me to a room and he asked why I am coming to USA I said earthquake of 1999 destroyed my home so I am coming to my friend, then he cancelled 6 months permit and he put just 1 month stay. I was hearing from back ground other officers were yelling at him ''Send him back''( I knew they wanted me to scared but I knew It was a psychological, they just want you to know that they can send you back If they want). Whatever then officer let me go. I just wonder is this a refusal entry?

Well, you were permitted to remain for one month, correct? So, why would you consider that a refusal?

I thought It was a refuse because of officer cancelled my six months permit.
Yes, I was permitted to remain one month stay in U.S.

I'm no lawyer, but maybe the fact that you basically told him your house has been destroyed, he may be thinking that you have intentions of staying here?

very good point-they will think you have no reason to return to your home country(especially if you don't have a home).
