We have to travel to Winnipeg for the medical (my fiance has asked me to come along). Anyone have any good hotels to stay that are relatively close to the doctor and won't cost us an arm and a leg?

I just did my medical in Wpg in June. I went to Dr Jery Drexler. He was cheaper than the other one.
He's in the Manitoba Clinic by the Health Sciences Center. Very close to down town. We went up and back from Dryden in the same day so didn't need a hotel. Everything is done in the clinic. We were done in 1 hr.

The last time I stayed in Wpg for a shopping trip with a friend we stayed at the Carlton downtown. Nothing great but Ok. We just got up and left in the morning. Kind of confusing to get to because of the one way streets and bus only streets. Get a good map of downtown if you're not familiar. I think most of the others downtown hotels are quite expensive. Carlton has an internet coupon. Think it was $65. with the coupon. Other reasonable hotels are out by Polo Park or the Super 8 when you come into the city from the east.
