Good Morning All,

I was wondering if anyone knew how long is an I-130 visa valid for after it is issued. I'm bringing my wife and step-daughters to the states but it will probably be a month or so after. (if we do have the visa approved). Thanks for taking the time to read my question.

The visa you will receive will be either a CR1 or IR1 (C for conditional if you've been married less than 2 years, otherwise, they're the same.) The visa will be valid for 6 months, so you should be just fine. wink.gif

Is there anyway to petition an extension???

The Immigrant Visa is valid for 6 months from the visa issuance date. I am not sure, how you can extend it. Maybe contact the US Embassy.
