Hello, mi name is Miriam, I am mexican and my husband is american. I´m actually in Mexico and my husband in USA. We´ve been married since april 2004 and the last year we got married by the church yes.gif

It´s a long story, so long that I doné even want to bored you talking about that. I´ve been reading almost daily your cases and I just want to say THANK YOU, this forum is a "light in the darkness".

My question is simple, we got approved the I 130 in july-18-2006 and the I-129F YESTERDAY!! july-24-2006, just 6 days later, almost simultaneous!!

So, I´m not sure what to do. Should we take the I-130 way? How much is the difference in waiting time? I´ll ask for the waiting time because we must go to CD Juarez crying.gif in any way and you already know that is one of the slower consulates helpsmilie.gif

I really appreciate all your past comments and if anybody has an advice I will really appreciate that.

God bless!!

ps. If anybody needs to know ANYTHING about Mexico or Ciudad Juarez, please feel free to ask.

First of all, congratulations and it is a pleasant dilemma for you! I would say that you keep both processes going at the same time. I think, you will get a K-3 interview date very soon. usally, I-130 case sits at the NVC for about two and a half months to three months whereas the I-129F case sits at the NVC only for few weeks.

I agree with simple_male. For now, try to keep both processes going at the same time, and you will probably get the K-3 interview sooner.

However, once the consulate gets the file for the I-130 from the NVC they will cancel processing for the K-3 and continue only with the CR-1.

Due to both being approved so close togerher and the amount of time it takes Cd. Juarez to process both K-3's and CR-1's, my guess is that you will be doing a CR-1 regardless.

Hello! Miriam ii would do both proccess at the same time and maybe the K3 will be faster for you, im in the same case as you are and i made by accident just the CR1 instead of doing both. Mexicans timelines doing so much time and delay on the CR1 but of course for everyone works different, check my timeline and you will get an idea for Mexico , also i keep in touch with a american /mexican couple that are in this proccess since long time ago and their experience is that they have the case complete since 23th January and till now they keep waiting for the interview day so for Mexican consulate is taking about 9 to 11 months to get the interview crying.gif , but who know maybe you can get lucky again as you did with the first part of the proccess, so i were you i would think about it an i would do both good.gif

Congratulations! and i hope i helped you ! smile.gif

Hey!

Thank you very much to all of you biggrin.gif

I already told my husband all your opinions and we are going to follow your advices. It´s so nice to talk to people in your same situation, specially when you lost the faith and felt like you are all by yourself.

I wish the best for all of you!! Hope we could meet our husbands, wifes and fiance´s as soon as possible!!
