I just had a premination and decided to call the 800 number tocheck on the case, I was shock to hear that the RFE for the I129 was received..finally , bu twhat really got me was when I tried the I130 number. It said THIS PETITION WAS APPROVED ON JULY 24, 2006 , oh my god I cannot believe it, I got approved. What a load.

That is absolutely WONDERFUL and encouraging news! I sent back both of our RFE's and still have not heard one thing in regards to whether or not they even got them!! We would much rather prefer having the "BIG ONE", but then again, if the K-3 does come through before it, then beggars can't be choosers as they say!! lol..Congrats hun and good luck with the rest of your journey!!!

I am wondering. At this point (after initial I130 approval) the backgound/security checks (which can cause a delay) are pretty much over with? Now it's a matter of formality/processing, getting the app through the NVC and the to the consulate and bringing all of your documentation with you? How do you find out what the wait is for an interview? I went to the US consulate site for us and I couldn't find it. Also, anyone else having to pay $9.95 to schedule an interveiw appointment via online system or $2 an hour to call their consulate via a "1-900" number? That seems crazy to me. Guess it probably cuts down on telephone calls, though.

yeah basically that is whatit boils down to getting this through the NVC to the embassy to schedule the date for the big interview.
I found out through asking other members who went through the same embassy as me, but also if you go to the embassy info at the top of the page it should bring you to your embassy and most likely it will tell you.
I am not sure how much it cost to schedule and appointment, I haven't checked that out yet, should be a little fee not much, but paying $2 to all via a 900 # does not sound right. I could be wrong though.

I was approved on July 14..while I was still in Egypt visiting my husband but didn't find out until I got home A friend of mine going through the process with me emailed me with the news that she got approved on July 14 so I decided to check the website about our case. Low and behold..we were approved also!!! I didn't find this out until a week later. The email they sent me went into my junk mail bin and I rarely check that. Go figure!

Congratulations! It seems that you are the first VSC->CSC I-130 transferee that has been approved. If you got it so soon then there is a hope that others will follow too.

I am off my high ....well kind of. I will definately keep the K3 going, It might get to the embassy way before the I130. I have been reading and see were the I130 can take up to 2 months @ NVC. I am waiting 14 days before I really start doubting the K3 ( they claim it takes 14 days to process the RFE-so 8/11-I129F approval ??????????????????????).
I never thought the I130 would be approved before September so if we look out the window ( well I don't have one in my office- I guess I have to imagine that I have one) we might just see the little purple pigs flying way up there in the greenish sky......... ( this is a .....don't report me I have been missing from Bellevue since Monday night)
