Interesting article. Now, maybe the author of this article would like to be the springboard with the cases here and the CSC mess. I just wish someone that spotlights the article would mention the multiple petition part of this. That is one part that makes no sense and is not even related to 'protecting women'. The issue is the written law seems to vary slightly from the USCIS version of it....Again, I am glad for any publicity that shows this is nonsense.

Thanks in no small part to Tahirih Justice Center (http://www.tahirih.org), IMBRA has been a total bureaucratic fiasco that has essentially trashed 10,000 engagements and weddings. Jean Smoot of Tahirih Justice Center claims abuse rates between US citizens and foreign women are three times higher than in the general US population. However, Layli Miller-Muro, the executive director of Tahirih Justice Center stated on "O'Reilly Factor (March 22, 2006) that they had "no definitive way of knowing" the abuse rates in these international marriages. So who is telling the truth?
