When I called the NVC number, I got this recording:

A packet of information & documents was generated on July 17th & will be sent out in the next few weeks.

Is that the DS 230?

Yes, DS 230 plus instruction packets which will tell you what documents (birth certificate, police certificate, marraige certificate, divorce certificates, if any) the beneficiary has to obtain to take it during the interview. In this case, DS 230 part I and photocopy of the biographical information pages of the beneficiary's passport have to be sent to NVC. However, NVC requires some countries applicants to send DS 230 part I and II and all the above to them. In this case, NVC schedule the interview for the beneficiary. The instruction packet that you will receive will explain them all.

Sounds like it. That was the same message I heard when I was waiting for the DS-230.
I called sometime between July 3 and July 7th and heard that message and then received the package on the 10th.

Thank you both! I didn't know about the copy of the passport bio page. Do you think it's acceptable for him to scan/email or fax it to me?

They are requesting a copy of the passport bio page, so yes an e-mailed scan would print out very well at this end. I would be a bit leary of a fax, they can get so distorted in transmission.

Yes, emailing, faxing would be fine. NVC only asks for the photocopy of the passport's biographical information page. These pages mention the beneficiary's name, signature, picture, date of birth, place of birth, place of issue, etc.

Congratulations miss whizz!! Looking at your timeline, it seems as though your whole process is going relatively quick for you.It gives us a boost of positive energy that we sometimes need during this grueling process. Goodluck with the rest of your journey!!!

Thanks Laura. I am actually quite shocked about how fast this is going. Although, I do think I may have a little problem with the I-864 there's no point in worrying about it. It's par for the course. I only used the shortcuts for the DS 3032 & the AOS fee bill. I guess they really do help!

I hope you fly through all of this too!
