Last time shopping at the arab market we bought a LARGE box of dates for Ramadan. Well, I started to prepare too early cuz we ate most of them already!

I feel lucky I live in a place where there is many different "international" shoppes... Arabic, Indian, Hungarian,Asian,Greek,Russian etc ... I just love wandering through these shoppes and just looking at the different products they have... seems like there is very little that I cannot buy...

if you have a "Whole Foods" anywhere, they have them... I also saw some that looked good at Sam's - but most int'l stores should have them. good luck!

I dont care for posting in the other topics so I will go ahead and fill everyone in since I do not post that much, and in Yalla ME...it is mostly my Jordan gals...

My new job started last week....I love it, and adore the kids I work with, my class is 8 months to 15 months so its tiresome, but so worth it.....I hope to keep this job, and as soon as i finish my degree, become a teacher there...Sofyan is at a new dealership sellin cars...Not happy though, He wishes to find steady money, that doesnt involve getting home at 10pm every night, and working 6 days a week...Hes tired, and sometimes feels he works for nothing...I hope and pray we find something soon for him....Im planning on going back to jordan in 2 months or so...anyone care to go with?? lol...I miss my in laws so much, and have some new nieces and nephews on the way, so Its about time for a visit...Other than that, same ol same ol....I took Sofyan to Brookfield Zoo yesterday, he had such a good time....he has never been to a zoo and was amazed at the animals...we always make jokes cause he says the zoo in jordan only has cats and dogs that are fed dead donkeys...lol...After the zoo we followed up with some Shish Tayouk at the oh so fabolous Al Basha in Palos Heights...My favorite spot....and now well...hes working, I spent the day cleaning up, and now Preparing some Mansaf....I hope everyone is well....

Glad your job is working out. Hopefully your SO can get a job with less hours and only 5 days.
I talked to Anmar about his job he took besides his main one. Well he quit that job at night, but after he seen his paycheck for that job he kind of likes the second job thing. Sooo now he went out and applied for this job from 5am to 9am in the morning part time. He hates be alone at home when i'm not there and would rather be working when i am. So hopefully he gets the job. We can leave to work about the same time and get home about that same time. Couldn't ask for anything better. I use to love mansaf, but after my husband made it and it made me sick. I'm laying off the mansaf until we get back to Jordan. Well what about Ramadan Kelly? are you participating or just observing? I just worried about the kind of food to make...oh well. Back to work! take care everyone! Oh by the way we have another person processing through Jordan. irahaymeh so lets give her a hello and a welcome I know she checks in here sometimes.

Everytime at Al Basha, I get the same thing! beef shwrma sandwich....I have to try something different. Mohammed has kusa mashi last time and it was good.

YAY Kelly!! I am glad you are loving the new job! How long are you planning on staying in Jordan? My trip was cancelled, since my honey is gonna be here soon anyway! His interview got moved up 4.5 months! Its now going to be on October 19th! Woohoo! So he is planning on coming right after Christmas.

Angel, how's the bun in the oven coming along?

Congrats on your interview date Yasmine and welcome... sorry abt the trivial bs that goes on.... sometimes things can get a little out of hand when it happens... glad you came back and posted! When was your case sent to Casa? Just curious, I'm waiting also for our interview date.

Married life has been sooo much more than I thought it would be and I hardly ever have time for the computer. Plus usually most of my computer time is spent on my Babies on the Brain message board where I get a ton of info on my pregnancy. Glad to see everyone is progressing real well in their cases It is so exciting to see so many reunited ... this journey should be short. I withstood it for 2 years and 2 months .. but I hope noone else has to.

Ali & I are sooooooooooooo excited about spending our first Ramadan together as a family !! We are already talking about what we will do for Eid I plan on fasting this year and inshallah since I am pregnant I will not miss one day. If I can do that I will say al hamdullah a million times. Maybe my goal is a bit unrealistic ... but you gotta set your goals high right ? Wish me luck and strength guys !

I MISSSSS JORDAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i can't wait until we go back.... I can't imagine how my husband feels since I, yes I, get sick to my stomach in missing Jordan......*sigh*

I don't think I'm gonna be going back to Jordan until the year after next. I cancelled my trip this year because his interview date got moved up and he will be coming a couple of months after his interivew. In 2007, we are getting married. Well we are going to have a court wedding immediatly but our real wedding is gonna be in June of 2007 and his whole family is going to come for it, sooooo with all that time off, I don't think I can go back until 2008.
