I really need help from my fellow Egyptian vj'rs............is your husband's military certificate from the MINISTRY OF DEFENSE also???? It doesn't matter if he's exempt or not........

I'm gathering evidence from official Egyptinan Government websites that the MINISTRY OF DEFENSE is the ONLY place that issues military certificates, to send in with his extra military certificate that he's getting this weekend to send to NVC with our RFE.

The NVC seems to think that there is still a MINISTRY OF WAR that exists, and it does not exist anymore, NVC's info is outdated.

I've had our case forwarded to a supervisor bcz we got an RFE for his military certificate, they said it needs to be from MINISTRY OF WAR, not MINISTRY OF DEFENSE, and I told the operator to tell the supervisor there is no longer a MINISTRY OF WAR!!!!!!!

We are going nuts trying to understand why only we are getting an RFE for this, or are ALL Egyptian petitions getting this RFE????

Once your husband sends in his new military exemption certificate I think things will be cool. I wouldn't worry about it unless they give you another RFE. My husband's cert is NOT from the ministry of war.

Thanks.....I have asked NVC to have a supervisor review this situation, the operator also told me to send an email explaining there is no longer a Ministry of War, but only Ministry of Defense, so I did send the email along with 2 website links to official Egyptian government websites, showing Ministry of Defense & Military Production all over them, so I hope it helps.

My husband is also getting an extra military cert from Egypt this week and we will send it with the RFE coversheet and printouts of the websites showing them the proof.

I am sooooooo stressed that they will still not accept any of this, but how can we possibly convince them otherwise??????? I'm praying so hard to end this stupid roadblock............we have enough to worry about not getting put on AP after the interview!!!

I'm disappointed here too that no only a couple of posters from Egypt have replied to me, but oh well, Allah is our only hope anyway

Zahra, I did respond to your post. Don't know what else one can say, except it isn't
The Ministry of War....it's the Ministry of Defense that issues his certificate.

My husband had to wait 3 years after he gradutated from college to see if he was going
to be exempted. When he went to pick up his certificate, it was after his 3 yrs were up.
It had nothing to do with the visa process. He had to have proof whether there or here
that he was exempt from military duty.

Don't know where your husband lives, but mine lived in Alexandria. The military facility
was a distance out of the city where he had to go and wait for his certificate.

I am still waiting to see if we get a RFE from the NVC. I hope not!! His cetificate is from the ministry of defense too...I will let you know!!!

hi ,, i and my wife used k3 so i'm not sure if its the same or not but all i can say my military certificate wasnt from Ministry of war it was as your husband from Ministry of defense and works fine even when i sent it to the embassy in cairo and showed it on my interview so the NVC will accept it dont worry , here is no Ministry of war no longer ,, wish it can help you , best of luck .

Thank you everyone for your confirmation that we are right, NO ministry of war I have sent NVC an email explaining this with several website links for them to see, including from the Egyptian Government and NVC's own website.

I really hope the supervisor this week will see their mistake and get us our case complete

Our first wedding anniversary is January 4, so we hope at least we can be together for an interview then.

I will let you know when this issue gets resolved, hopefully it was just the document reviewer's stupid mistake and the supervisor will fix it for us!
