Full Version: "A" number for I-864

We just received the I-864 pkg and it askes for "A" number. The only A number we can find is on the NOA2 for the I-129F. I'm thinking this isn't the number they want since the I-864 is for the I-130 - am I right?

We want this to go as quickly as possible as our K3 is moving butt a** slow.

Please let me know asap so we can get this in the mail - anyone?

Thanks

tommysgirl,

There was no A# on the I-130 Approval Notice? If not, I would put the A# that you do know on the I-864.

Ultimately the USCIS is going to consolidate all of your files under a single A# when you gain LPR status. Until then the more times you leave a question about A# blank (or 'none' or 'unknown') the more likely you are to grow a set of different A#s to track down and consolidate. (True, the I-864 is going to the NVC, not USCIS, so who knows if what you enter is going to make any difference)

Anecdote, although somewhat different from your situation. I initially filed I-129f Fiance(e) petitions for my wife - two simultaneously, one each to the NSC and the VSC. The NSC does not normally indicate the A# on the Receipt Notice, but the VSC does. I subsequently married my wife, withdrew both I-129f petitions, and submitted an I-130 petition to the NSC only. I provided the VSC-assigned A# on the I-130. The NSC used the same number for the I-130 case, and included it on the I-130 Receipt Notice.

HELP... My NOA2 did not have A#, nor have I seen on previous paperwork! Is it bad? What do I need to put in affidavit? Is it weird that A3 has not been asigned?

Thanks in advance

Eva,

You are fine. There was no A number for my wife on our I-130 approcal too. They listed my A number on the approval. Anyway, if the beneficiary does not have an A number, simply answering "NONE" willl suffice it.
Isabel
hi there,
we found my A# on our issued RFE. Usually you will find it anywhere on your paperwork. Otherwise (as stated before) put N/A in. You will be fine.

If you don't have one, DEFINITELY put N/A or "none" in that space. We didn't, and got an RFE for it.
