My husband received his British police certificate in the mail and has several cautions on it (4 or 5 I think) related to alcohol. The most recent one was last year. He doesn't have an "abuse" issue per se, meaning he isn't a drunk. On occassion, he would go out with his mates and get drunk and run into someone looking for a fight or what have you. Being intoxicated he just couldn't refuse (and I feel like I should kick him now). Anywho...long story short, he has been seeing a therapist and hasn't drank in some time. Would these cautions cause him to de denied? His therapist doesn't want to see him anymore because she considers him to be rehabilited but he enjoys talking with her so he still goes. But at each visit she attempts to get him to stop coming...weird relationship there...lol! Back on track...sorry...would having a letter from his therapist stating he is rehabilitated be helpful in not getting denied or will he still get denied and then have to submit a waiver.
He also has a conviction on his record from when he lived in Sweden. We have the police cert for that as well. It was assault and he spent 40 days of a 60 day sentence in a overnight prison (meaning he could check out during the day he just had to be back for nightly roll call and sleep there).
I've read all about the alcohol provisions and the conviction provisions in the regulations. I'm mainly looking for personal experience.
Thanks:)
