I couldn't take it anymore! Waiting for the interview date has been driving me crazy along with the weekly let-downs of hearing the same '2-4 months' response when I call, SO...I decided to go to Vietnam for August!!! ...Now, I just hope her interview lands in that timeframe!

Excellent news for you. Have a good trip and be sure to bring everything with you that she would need for her interview if it happens to get scheduled while your still in Vietnam.

Hi Patricks! I am going Eva Air from LAX for roughly $1200 and taking my steps (mom & bro). If I were going solo, I could've found a flight leaving before end of July for 950 + visa...check out their website: evaair.com

We're confident, yet diligent in our preparation. We're dotting our "i's" and crossing our "t's" a few times just to make sure it is all there. It is only now in the end that we realize how much evidence we gathered the past year. The difficult part is organizing it all. We're on the right track and "thinking BIG PICTURE."

Are you flying straight economy on EVA Air, or Evergreen Deluxe Class (i.e. premium economy)?

I am coming late August and got a fare from LAX of 960 +/- from China Airlines. Straight economy cause I burned most of my miles doing biz class last trip. So look there if you haven't pulled the trigger on the EVA.

I've ridden China over and back twice (1 economy and 1 biz class) and really enjoyed it.

Fat Man... (love that nickname!) I searched China air too, but even with flexible dates, I couldn't find it lower (for 3 people and hopefully 4 on the return)...the good news I've racked up so much mileage on Eva that I've got free upgrades from economy to Deluxe evergreen for the trip home. So even if I go economy there, I'm riding back in a little style with my sweetheart!

and to all VN VJ'ers - With so many people in Vietnam in August, we should definitely consider a VJ in HCMC dinner!! It'd be great to meet all of you and toast to our upcoming marriages! If enough of you think so, I'll start a new thread! PM me!!

WOW!!! Timing is EVERYTHING!!!! We got our interview date: AUGUST 10! AND it landed perfectly in my window of travel to VN...thanks to VJ, I was able to calculate my timeline pretty accurately (I encourage all of you to fill out yours!). Now I can look forward to being there to support and assist in her in preparation and still have plenty of time to enjoy the trip after the interview I look forward to meeting you other VN-VJ'ers who PM'ed me to get together and the offer is still open to others who want to join us!

That's great that your trip falls during the interview. I was also in my spouse's home country for the interview and really glad that I was able to be there.

Thanks for the kind thoughts! I am getting more excited with each day! I picked up the tix yesterday and spent the last week shopping for gifts and things to take..and of course, making sure I have every piece of evidence and supporting info gathered and ready for the interview in 2 weeks. Its a little stressful, but time sure flies when you are busy! And the best part is that I still find time to daydream about Nhu and imagine our life together and know that soon, VERY soon, it will be a reality, and that puts the biggest smile on my face!

Hi Justin, yes, we received p4 pretty quickly after they told us on the phone....on the 20th! I hope you get the packet soon!! Looking at the other VJers that had interviews in July, I know their dates varied, even tho they were all pretty close to returning the p3 at the same time. I'm sure it will be very soon!!!
