Recieved IMBRA RFE for the I-129 on the 3rd July.Mailed on the 5th.
On the 10th July we received confirmation email saying the following:
On July 10, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or
information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining
processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will
receive a written decision on this case. You can use our processing dates to
estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current
processing dates.
On the 13th July my wife recieves another IMBRA RFE dated the 10thJuly.
What does this mean?? the RFE is exactly the same copy as the one we have already filled out and sent back.
Are we to send this back as well?
And after reading the confirmation email a hundred times I can still not work out what the hell they mean! any ideas?
after 6+ months a very tired husband of this whole process is saying thanks in advance of any help.

Many of us received it twice. So you are not alone. But you should send only one to them.

This is the "tired husband's" wife here...I just called USCIS and asked about this. They said I should send a letter to USCIS explaining that we already submitted our evidence for IMBRA, and attaching a copy of the one we originally sent back, plus a copy of the new RFE we received.
Great...another trip to the post office and more overnight delivery fees. Could they get their act together already?!?!?!?!? Grrrr.

Come on! It does not make sense. It is not your fault that they mailed you the same thing twice. They need only one RFE back. Why do you have to go the post office and waste your time? The USCIS customer service persons perhaps thought you are the only one who got the same email twice. Remember, USCIS also sends the same email more than once as well. Just send one RFE back and don't worry about it.

I agree, this is COMPLETELY ridiculous. Could they get their act together?!?! I am at the end of my rope with them. If they were a business, they would be OUT of business so fast it would make their heads spin. It is infuriating that they can give us the run-around like this and we just have to sit back and take it.

I was just thinking the same as you...send it back with a letter and copy of the 1st, via regular mail.
Seriously, what is their problem over there?!?!? I wonder if they had a system-wide error that generated new RFEs for everyone. Either way, this is beyond annoying. (sorry it feels good to vent.)

I am so sorry that you all received it twice, but just to be safe i would do as the other vj member had suggested, send it again with the attached note and copy of the first rfe..I completely agree that this whole process is insane and will drive a person insane with all this waiting and hoopla of a process that they make us go thru..Sometimes I feel like its hazing ritual because we all have chosen to marry someone from another country! LOL Hang in there, this craziness too shall pass....

Yep, I received the second rfe today also. Here’s my letter
Dear USCIS,
I received a second I-129F IMBRA supplement RFE in today’s mail 7/14/06. I have already returned the first one and have received email confirmation that USCIS received it on 7/10/06. How many of these do you need? In fact, why don’t you process the first one since you haven’t processed any cases for 12 weeks.
Sincerely

Ugh. Just received the second IMRBA RFE. Like others, I'll fill it and mail it with a copy of the first one. Could it be that different branches of the government need this information? Or would that be a totally logical (and inappropriate) explanation?

I got it X3. My lawyer got one, it looked like a copy on white paper. He sent it to me and I sent that one. Then 3 days later he got another one, same as the first only this time on blue paper. He sent it to me and I mailed that one to them. The same day I mailed the second one I got one in the mail at my house. Same as all the others. I think I will frame the last one and throw darts at it.
