For me it varies. Sometimes it takes a long time, sometimes it's real fast.

Actually right now its pretty dire - I keep getting numerous 404's then the page finally comes up - but its slow as..well..slow things.. - can someone put 50p in the meter that runs the server?

Seriously - I don't know if theres a linking router that's having issues, or if its the site server - I didn't ping it and run traceroute on the packets to check but I might if it keeps up.

I just upgraded MySQL so that downtime was 'expected' (by me at least) in the past 10 minutes!

Captain Ewok,
I have not done any trace routing, however, and beyond the site being slow at times, I just received this message:
IPB WARNING [2] load_language(/home/spalik/public_html/forums/cache/lang_cache/en/lang_global.php): failed to open stream: Too many open files in system (Line: 1702 of /sources/ipsclass.php)
Thoughts?

Captain Ewok, Further troubleshooting info for you? Or perhaps for me? Don't really know... Anyway, here is another error:
IPB WARNING [2] mysql_connect(): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) (Line: 131 of /ips_kernel/class_db_mysql.php)
There appears to be an error with the database.
You can try to refresh the page by clicking here.
Error Returned
SQL error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
SQL error code:
Date: Friday 14th of July 2006 10:25:09 PM
Is this my computer, or the server? All I know is that I have not received errors such as this before. Please advise. Thanks and Regards.

Captain Ewok,
The Visa Journey site is definitely having issues.
When I eventually get back in, there are only 30-40 people on board.
You know this is not typical, normal traffic is on the order of 200+.
Cheers Captain Ewok, I am only passing info, albeit bad news!!!
