Glad to see this back, Im sure its going to be very helpful and supportive for alot of people.

I am waiting....and this process is wearing on me ....I see other around the same time as ours getting approvals .. I am about few days from the 4 month mark so i am trying to have a bit more patience....
I did email my Senator to ask if they help in such cases if i need to in the future. his advisor emailed me directly back the same day(impressive),they advice me to contact my Congressman.. but i have not yet ..

I do find it odd that they told you to contact your congressman. Senator's can be of assistance as well. But supposedly the congressman has a little more influence over consulates (I didn't see it).

I think it is a wise idea to enlist their help in advance. Hopefully you won't need it, but if you do they can step in immediately. Good luck with your journey.

i am waiting....hubby's interview is next month hope it all works out, i haven't seen him since july 9th

Waiting... Interview was April 15th in Damascus.
SO is not a resident of the country he is staying in (fled Iraq to Syria) so getting a "temporary resident" card is getting harder and harder as he has been there for quite a while. Interestingly-the cost keeps getting higher too but the validation dates are getting smaller. Insha'Allah the visa approval will come through soon.

13 more days until my hubby comes!

Hubby had his interview August 13 and was put in AP. Came out of AP as of September 7th. Still no visa in hand!!! Any idea how long this part takes?

We are still waiting for case complete at NVC but think its too late for a October interview, and French fresidency card expires Nov 6th dont know how and if France will extend it for 3 months, that 3 months would be great, so we are done I guess in France, now probley have to transfer to Algeris, and I dont want that, and honestly a bit afraid to travel there for interview.

We went through the same thing, watching others with similar and newer timelines getting approvals and reunions before we got approved. It was hard and I know how you feel. I hope you hear something very soon. I also asked for an inquiry from my congressman and they were uber helpful in keeping us up to date on the status of the petitions at VSC. The rep also wrote an email when Y got his interview.

My hubby's interview is tomorrow and I am just full of the most nerves possible. I am trying to keep myself busy by studying. Thank you everyone for all of your help and I will definitiely keep everyone posted.

K3 still in AP, probley will come out when case complete with the CR1. Funny thing NVC told me Friday to ignore the $70.00 they sent me, I never got it. I wonder since they know I followed CR1 if the K3 will forever be in AP with no chances of following it. I did fax embassy and asked what happens if CR1 interview is after the expiration of his card "in a way hoping they show mercy and give us a early interview date" anyways, should hear from embassy via email in am. I dont know, does embassy care if interview is after Nov. 6th and he is still there would they issue visa? After all, France has nothing to do with it, right? he is not overstaying a visa in USA which is a ground for denial/ I know Im thinking far fetched, Im tired, stress and so drained of this whole process.

Honestly, I dont know how the US consulate will view him overstaying in Paris.. I hope they answer you soon.

The K3 will come out of AP when its done, no matter if you are following the Cr1 or not.

After reading that everyone is waiting one way or the other, I don't feel so alone. I am still waiting for the NOA2 approval. I hope everyone has the best of luck and get their loved ones with them soon!

Now, what should we do and what we should get prepared until NOA2 arrives in mail? What should John send me and what can prepare here in Cairo? We already have a list of things, but we like to get your advice on what to prepare.

i would definitely have him start preparing the documents for sponsorship. the bank letters, job letters, tax forms, etc. That stuff held us up for a month after we received NOA2, I don't know if it would've made a difference in the long run, but the wasted time was frustrating.

Things have gone a lot crazier for me at home, but it was a perfect timing being fasting for a whole month.. I was calm hopeful and peaceful alhamdulillah.. John helped me A LOT through this.. He listens for hours, bears with my moods, always reminds me of how things will be when we don't have to deal with this again... I wouldn't say things got better with family... They didn't.. But I'm handling it better and being calm... I still do care about my family and hope things will get better one day...

Morning ladies!!! Sharifah, yes we tracked the DHL package. The embassy kept telling me it was close to being ready and then they send they would send it with DHL and that night I saw the tracking information change. Hubby had it the next morning!!! Now we just have to decide when he will arrive!!! We are thinking early to mid October. Have a great day ladies!!!!

I am a little depressed....this time last year I was preparing myself to go to Jordan. But that means we are just a few weeks away from our 1 year anniversary. Its funny how I look now and say, wow a year already..where did it go?!! But when we were waiting on USCIS & NVC it seemed like an eternity. So keep your heads up ladies and stay strong...your time will come very soon although it doesn't feel like it. I pray God blesses each one of you immensely.

Morning all, Iwish I could say its a good morning, but its not, I called NVC and was told our CR-1 is also in AP. Its hopeless now, I wish I ccould just crawl under a rock. K3 in AP since 08-11-09 and now this am, told same for CR1. I give up, its not meant to be.

ladies, after 5 calls, I got a supervisor Ms. Lila, she pulled my K3 petition I-129F and took it out of AP and sending to embassy. She told me to call her Friday for a update to see if already sent to Paris, but she did pull it, after tears, and choking on phone, she told me to breath, its going to be alright. She was a very nice lady, and made sure I understood to call and ask for her on Friday.
Dont know what will happen with the CR1, she herself did not understand why in AP, she is also moving that petition into final review now herself. Someone please tell me she was real, that she told me the truth.

See...don't loose faith. Everything works out for good for those who serve the Lord. Keep praying and trusting in God.

Beth! Thats great news!! I believe it because the latest trend for AP at NVC is around 20 days and you've already gone past that, so I would trust that she pulled it out.
And even if you want the CR1, its not going to be in AP that much longer.

Aww Beth how stressing! Yet, alhamdullilah the supervisor sent the K3 to the embassy!! I am glad to hear that. Although, I don't understand why the CR1 got put in AP. I thought, that only K1 and K3 get AP.

I really hope the CR1 will be at case complete soon. It really is the better visa to get, although I know you have a time crunch. What about the extention for your man's residency card? What has he done so far to do that? Keep us posted honey. Hugs.

Further update: AP for CR1 does not mean the AP hell we all know. AP for CR1 means its in final review, last desk before case complete.
Why in the hell could a operator tell me this???, this is what the supervisor basically told me as I think it all over now, and a VJer also confirmed this, she too went thru same nightmare of hearing those words AP, The AP is sooooo mis-representated, and can scare the hell out of a person. So Ive learned a lesson, the worst a person hears is not always what it means. I do thank my lucky stars I got a supervisor who had a heart, took her time with me, and actually did something, and not just look in the system and read what was in it.

Hubby is trying to take a teaching position with a school in France, teaching English, I asked him Who will teach you English, he laughed and so did I , I needed that. Actually his English is superb!!! We will figure this out, and he also wont ever let me give up. he is my rock and the super glue that holds me together. Thank you all, I know Im whiney at times, its just my nerves are shot with this whole mess.

AP at NVC is its own animal. Some have even been told by DOS that they put files in "AP" when the consulate is overflowed and needs some files to be held in order to "catch up" on their non immi visa interview schedule.
While another lady who was interviewed once their file was out of AP and to the consulate, was asked about other lease holders at her hubby apt ...as they found out during AP that there was an overlap in dates of lease holders at his apt.

There arent any real facts on AP at NVC other than every case takes the same amount of time(give or take a few days based on the current trend) for example: when we were in AP there...99% got out in 50-53 days. Now its 20-22 days. Poor Beth, you were that one
You cant tell me that they are doing any "real" AP if its a consistent amount of time for 99% of people. That just doesnt make sense to me.
oh ya, and the operators at NVC have no idea wth it is for lol
