I totally understand your reasons not that you have to give anybody any. I should be making an omlette and getting ready for class but I couldn't resist today making a comment reading the thread. My Mom comes tomorrow and leaves the next day. It's homecoming weekend though she didn't plan to be here for that. lol! And I'm afraid that now that we passed 8 weeks that we're moving into the 5-6 month range for the visa in hand. In five to six months my whole world as I know it is going to change.

You've got the couch I've got the music!

How in the world could I leave VJ ? I have signed into this site everday since 2003.

I hate the gossip and backbiting~ but I love the good women (and Charles) in the Mena forum. What I need to do is thicken my skin and when I read crap that is written about myself and ya'll ~~~~~~I need to let it roll off and not let it affect me like it does. I let words from strangers, hurt my feelings and I can't let it get me down. Ya know..some think I lost my mind when Mohammed divorced me...no actually all I lost was an idiot and about 30 pounds. tongue.gif My morals, ethics and compassion remain intact.

Not too many of you know what is actually going on in my life at the moment, and you dont really need to. But I will share with ya that I am homeless and living in a motel. God has always provided and my faith is strong that He will give me the determination to dust myself off and keep going.

I am blessed with awesome family and friends and what more could I ask for.

ok........back to the countdown MY HUSBAND IS COMING HOME!!!!!

For some reason that calls for another Tracy Chapman song.

Sorry I just saw this. I hear ya B&S. By the end of December if he isn't here I'm supposed to pack up and move to Egypt. At least I know what I'll be doing with my life in a few months if it comes to that. Otherwise the possibilities are wide open.

Snow pushed Mom back a couple hours. I hope she makes it ok. Talking with Waleed now while doing laundry.
Kenza
Inshallah your mom arrived safely.

Does anyone have Beth's phone number? I had her husband's cell number that she gave me, but I lost it. I would like to call her to see what's up!

I just had to share some good news!
We got the NOA1 for our I130!! It is dated Oct 21.
But the best part... a prayer answered... it went to California!
I expected Vermont based on where I live, but it went to CALI! kicking.gif
I know things move much faster there! And I know we are going CR1 now, too. Forget the extra work of the K3!
We are sooo happy!
♥J+I♥
Ally that is great! Our Cali approval was quick, I hope yours is too!

Tracy I don't have the answers to your question but I feel for anyone that is apart from their loved one because of this stinking visa process. Sometimes I want to vomit, tear my hair out, scream bloody murder, and punch pillows when I see someone apply well after me and get to be with there spouse well before me when I've been waiting nearly three years for my Husband's visa. This year it looks like we will be missing our third wedding anniversary together. That's three years of marriage apart. I want off this roller coaster but the visa process and the fees never end until they become a citizen here.

OK. I hope that I do not seem like the most stupid person in here... but since my journey with the CR1 is just beginning... I am going to ask.
What is the casier judiciar?
If it is something that I will soon need, too, I want to be prepared and I have never seen or heard this phrase.

And I am really sorry to hear about your delay.
It makes me afraid to call with any questions. I think I get better answers on here!

it's a document from the court showing if you have a clean record or if you have any convictions...this goes with the DS-230...i'm not sure if your hubby will need it but in Morocco they do..i would look check with some of the other with spouses from Jordan as to what you might need for your 230 as the NVC reps don't know what the hell they're talkin about...lol...and good luck with your journey

Yeah this December we'll be married three years but I didn't get everything together and apply for the visa until six months after that. Still we will technically be apart for the majority of those three years of marriage and this visa process is insane. It makes people go insane too. I've been there a couple of times myself and everyone has their moments at various levels even if for a second. I've known my Husband since March 17, 2004 so the majority of our relationship these past five years have been online. That is just too much for one woman to handle even if she is modern day and western. There is just so much to deal with having a long distance relationship, different cultures, different beliefs, different politics, stigmas and prejudices on from both sides. Then we have the added stress of the visa process and whatever else is going on in our lives. The Egyptian Military Service is responsible for 16 months of our wait and DOS is technically responsible for 2 months one week and a one day of our being apart right now in AP. The wait and the not knowing even though you're already given approval for the visa in the interview is frustrating to say the least.

OMG.....3 years.....you know it's funny how they say visas are a privilege and yet they put you and your spouse thru hell for it....that is not a privilege to me....i am very sorry to hear it's been 3 yrs for you...that is absolutely ridiculious and DOS has no excuse for that....i've already made up my mind that if it takes much longer i'm just going to move there with him...i have been without my hubby for almost a yr but 3?..no way....you are one strong lady

Morning everyone, Im back in USA, and went to work, no word from embassy, and no movement on the Chronopost package we gave U.S. Embassy to send visa. Feel empty, and lost, do not know what lays ahead of us. His visa in France expires Friday, Nov. 6th, and embassy still has his passport.
Thank you all for your love and support. rose.gif

Paris, I have a question, which I'm not sure if you've answered before...I don't remember. If I remember correctly, to interview for an immigrant visa in country other than your 'home' country you have to have some sort of residency in that country. Does your husband have residency, or a work visa in France, that he interviewed there? If so, is he not able to extend that, to give him more time in France? Is the US consulate aware that your husband's visa is expiring? I also agree w/ everyone that posted (in your post-interview update thread) that the consulate holding on to your husband's passport is a good sign. Hopefully you'll get good news re. the visa very soon!

He has a Temporary French residency card/Student Visa card. He was working part time, and attending school there.
So he is there legally, but card expires Nov. 6th, and he is un-able to renew it.

Yes consulate knows about card expiring, it is why they gave us a earlier interview date. And at interview, the card expiring was mentioned too.
For the passport, its strange, even when I asked if she is keeping it, she made no move at all to hand it back! That is the thread of hope Im clinging too.
