Hey look, I was terrified after everything I read here. My case was destined to fail from all I had been told, but I lucked out in two regards...
1. My letter from the IRS (including the envelope it was sent to me in) stating that they cannot yet provide me last year's statement. The letter provided the date they could provide the statement and that date was
after the interview. Because of this they did not ask about 2005 income, which was ZERO for me and as a result I didn't need co-sponsors (I should add that I included statements going back to 2002 which showed high income earnings).
2. Just as important, the CO was great, friendly and when he found out that my fiance worked at an art gallery he recently purchased a painting from he became very friendly and started a conversation on art. He told my fiance her English was fluent and that she was very well traveled. The more they talked to more confident Anh became with her English. She was not nervous at all after maybe two minutes of the jitters.
That CO was a gift from God. That's how Anh and I look at it.
