My attorney was saying that another medical examination may be required in the US. Is this true? My spouse already had a medical exam for her K-3 visa and I was reading in the Federal Register that this is not required if the I-485 application (AOS) is filed within one year of the exam. For those of you who filed the I-485 did you have to do another medical exam?
Also, did you have to file for the I-765 to obtain the employment authorization card and how long did it take?

We just sent in my husband's AOS/EAD forms without taking another Medical.....and I voted to go ahead and send them in without the Vacc Supplement too, it's technically not needed until the AOS interview---If we get and RFE for it so be it--but in the mean time he should get his EAD and then we will be in a much better position to go have the Vacc. Supplement done---$150.00 for them to draw blood to test for the antibodies and fill-out the form.

I just got my medical done for K 3 last week and now I am filling out I 485. It says that if you are k1 you don't have to get another one but doesn't mention K1.
Seems to me silly if one needs it and other doesn't.
But would appreciate hearing from somebody who has experience

You dont need one for K# as long as AOS forms filed within 1 yr of initial exam

I didn't do another medical when I submitted my AOS paperwork, I just attached the copy of vaccination supplement that I got when I did my medical for K3. Did't get RFE nor asked during interview, but your local office might be different.
Re. EAD, yes, I submitted I-765, took about 3 months at that time, but if you don't hear anything after 90 days (from your NOA1 date), you can come to your DO and get a temporary one. The second time I filed for EAD, it took me only 1 month. Your timeline might vary depending how busy NBC is.

you do not need another medical exam, but you do need to go to a civil surgeon and have her vaccination records put on another form for the interview (i forgot the form number) your EAD should arrive within 90 days...but then the real fun begins for the SSN....good luck....oops, the fee i paid the civil surgeon was 70 dollars..

I didn't even do the vaccination supplement, all of that was included in the envelope from my K3 medical. USCIS had sent me an RFE later telling me they didn't have any medical information in my file (money grubbin' #$%^@!) but then we got our state Senator's office involved and they eventualy found out that USCIS had "lost" the file, but then managed to re-locate it
If all the vaccinations were completed and the supplement was included in the K3 medical folder, everything should be good to go with no need for further medical costs.

I have a K3 visa and I am going to send in my AOS paperwork this week. They say that if you file within a year of your K3 medical you don't need to do another one. My lawyer advised me to get a vaccination supplement form filled out to be on the safe side so I am going to get that done. The doctors in Melbourne are charging $75-$100 to fill out this form but I would rather do it now then get RFE later since Orlando applications are already taking 2 years till interview.
Good luck
