Unfortunatelly it is gonna take even longer for our case, just checked my mail and they sent and RFE today !!!

I dont know what the hell they want, we had sent a large panel of proofs (pictures, phone bills, bills in both countries, letters, plane tickets, joint life insurance...) so WHAT can they want ? And what am I supposed to do now ? I know we are not the only filers to get an RFE but it was really unexpected. I'm going back to see my husband next week but still my mood is really down atm.

Your RFE could be a simple translation thing, was the marriage cert translated? or another document that was not in English?
Go back and reveiw your copy of your I-130 petition you sent immigration, you may just find the answer. I was not so lucky on my RFE, but it was resolved quickly.

We got married in the US so no need for translation here. And my birth certificate was translated by someone who has the license to do it.
My husband has the copy of everything, not me. I really have no clue what they want and they dont wanna tell us anything on the phone so we have to wait till we get the mail.

No they wont disclose on the phone, makes it more frustrating for us. I understand how you feel, you should have the RFE in 5 to 7 days. Best wishes!!!

Thanks kaushalia, ia i hope I have my noa 2 soon, it's starting to drive me a little nutty. I'm thinking about buying a ticket to go visit my wife in Dec. but at the same time I'm like what if she'll be here by then; it'll be a waste of money.

Moonskin, I would'nt worry about the RFE, typically there is a approval very soon after the RFE from what i here. Just stay positive and give them what they want, it could be something very simple.

Look at the bright side, your case is sitting at an adjucators desk and as soon as you provide the information they need you'll get your NOA2 with Approval!

G/L I know it's hard but just stay positive, there are people on VJ who have gotten approval as little as one week after responding to an RFE.

NOA-2 arrived for both the I-130 and I-129 on the same date. It took 99 days from my NOA-1 till NOA-2 for the I-130.


How soon till NVC will have my case number? Do I need to call them to get the case number to apply for DS3032 by e-mail?

it took my i130 exactly 2 weeks to get a case number from nvc. if you are following the cr1 route, they will not accept anything until you have your case number, and even then, you have to wait until they generate the ds 3032. calling is a lot faster than waiting on the snail mail. i called this morning, got the case number, and it said it was just updated yesterday. so if u wait, it could take another 2 weeks just to get the hard copy.

We got the damned RFE this morning ! That was quick. Though we are both extremelly pissed off. Guess what they want ? Marriage Certificiate !!!! They fkn lost what we sent ! How the hell can they be so careless ?!

No clue, but they usually take copies. I didnt read the RFE, my hubby has it but he read it to me. They explain stuf blablabla, then say what we need to submit, and there we go : marriage certificate (explaining what needs to be on it). We are 200% sure it was in the original package, been checked uncountable times. So the only logical conclusion coming to our mind is that they lost it when forwarded the case or something like that. Hubby is gonna call when they open but I doubt they will care abt checking everything, I dont even think they can go check in your folder when you have them on the phone.

you are right the people on the phone are no help whatsoever ! i called the other day to check my case status they read me the same crap i saw online background checks BLA BLA BLA..i would send another copy just in case they lose it normally the only time you need an original is at the NVC and CONSULATE stage

USCIS is like throwing a hot dog down a hallway. I'm sure there is a better example but I've failed to come up with one. I hope you get your RFE sorted out soon dear. D:!

my husband just got the invoice no. and case no on Oct 1 and he paid AOS bill already. I wonder why he didn't get DS 3032 at this time. Do you guys have any ideas about it, before I call NCV.

Next step will be NVC, wait for few days and then start calling NVC to find if NVC case number assigned. It can also take up to 2 weeks...
Once case number assigned, they will send email for AOS bill/DS3032.

you can go to the James Shortcuts and get familiar with the NVC step or the Ling shortcuts.... Once you are familiar, there are NVC October threads

So, I just got a letter back from my senator's office... CSC stated that my case has been "delayed" as my "background investigation" remains open and if I don't hear of a decision or something from them within the next 90 days to contact USCIS again...

Any thought's as to why my background investigation is delayed???? anyone... anyone???

Since i'm still within their 5 month goal... im going to relax and give them the time..

Also, anyone know if USCIS changed their website and the way it works... From my understanding, anytime your file is touched you would see the date updated.. I'm assuming that when my senators office called they did have to look at my file... my file did not generate a "touch" on my case status..

Same here, my wife sent DS-3032 via email last sept 28 and I mailed it last Sept 2.

as per USPS, NVC received the DS-3032 on oct 2. But until now, no update....

Miss my wife! NVC please speed up the process!

I think every body seding ds3032 via email, so much load on NVC. 2 week passed, still waiting for NVC. If didnt hear anything by 2morrow, I am realy seding hard copy.

OK I dont get it...I got my NOA2 in the mail but all it said was that my application has gone to the NH office and that they will send further info to the person Im sponsoring. Nothing has come in the mail for my husband yet...does this mean I need to wait some more? I was hoping I can get all my forms in ASAP..

hi ginger, you can start calling nvc 603-334-0700 to see if it made it there. then you will get your case number. i advise giving them both email addresses then you can do the majority via email. come join the nvc threads. they are very helpful

Finally I got NVC email about ds 3032, now just waiting for IV fee email.

I send on 23, and took 16 days.... AVR system also ack the 3032, but so far no IV email.

Sigh...I'm still waiting for my husband's DS 3032 to be accepted....such a long wait....not that we are in any hurry, after all, we still don't have all the documents for the finaly packet yet....but...I would still want to know when the DS3032 is going to be accepted....

with this being a holiday weekend, i wonder if i have to add a day to the average wait time. oh well, right?

Hey it's seems like everybody is facing the same problem, I sent my DS-3032 more than two weeks ago, so far no sign:( I called them too, n they said to send one more time if one more week it won't b generated.

My husband and I are still waiting for our NOA2- received our NOA1 back at the start of June, and had a touch mid September, but since then, nothing. Really not sure what the hold up is, our case seems straightforward. Do I have to wait exactly 5 months before I can call customer services and chase this?

Any advice much appreciated as getting a little frustrated now!
