I didn't realize I had been so stressed, but when I saw that I had an RFE e-mail I actually started crying.
I've been touched!
The I-129F K3 has just moved forward by a degree!

I am so confused! If your I-130 was approved in April, why so much stress over the K-3? I really don't understand this whole thing....

The K3 is supposed to get our spouses in the country so that they can wait for the I-130 to process. In my case I have two young children who really miss their Daddy. So far they have been separated from him for 6 months. We are looking at probably 3 - 6 more months. If IMBRA hadn't muddled things up so badly, husband would probably be here with us now, or close to, even though it is still 3-6 months for the completion of the I-130.

Thank you for the clarification. I'm still trying to figure all of this out. It's so unbelievably complicated.

Basically, an approval letter is just a second beginning...from what I can gather.

Yup, The approval of the I-130 is a notification that your application has been approved for processing and that they have accepted your biographical information as supplied by you on the G-325A, and you move on the next step in obtaining a permenant resident visa which will allow your spouse to live and work in the country for ever.

Approval of the I-129F means that they will forward the I-129F to the Embassy where your spouse is resident so that they can interview your spouse and let them have a temporary K3 visa to enter the USA while they wait for the I-130 to finish processing. K3's are not permanent.

This is at least how I understand it. I may be a little off and if so, I will be corrected by the next post.

Just about everyone on these forums started out as confused as you are now.
This too will pass and we will be reunited with our hubbies. It just takes a lot more time than we are prepared for. smile.gif
