To elaborate, my 2-page RFE came from Missouri. It was dated June 28 and postmarked June 30. It had an A-Number, which is new, as well as the MSC Number. I simply checked the No box asking if we'd met through a broker, then signed and dated. I left the convictions blank because none apply.

timesnap, I work hard to keep my sanity, and picked up St. John's Wort on my way to the Post Ofice today. It helps guard against mild depression, which would be easy to fall into, since I've been unsuccessful in my job search for two months now. I talk to my husband in Toronto every day and he is my rock, reminding me that all will be well in the end, so I'd better make sure I'm well, too.

It's a big lesson in patience, taking one day at a time, and understanding what we can't control. Having a sense of humor helps because we get so anxious and ridiculous. It's also a big test of a marriage, since we're each called upon to do our part and support the other one. I'm glad I had a long relationship with my husband before we married because it's helping us weather this storm.

Hey, what a honeymooon phase we're all having! I've got a drawer full of red lacey lingerie and no place to wear it!

wohooooo kicking.gif. I got an email that our RFE was also send out on July 1st. That is great. Now I hope everything goes fast and we get approved very fast.

Godspeed! To all those who are waiting, no worries you will get it... yes.gif

Got RFE today...no prior email or touch...just showed up like Jersey Girl's. RFE dated June 28 and postmarked June 30 from Lee's Summit, MO.

I'm kinda thrown off by question #2, since it's a yes/no question, but there's no place to answer 'no'. I'm tempted to write in "no prior convictions". Leaving it blank could look like I just didn't address the question. Am I being too anal?

J.
akatagirl
I was thrown off my question number 2 as well on the RFE..since they didnt put a space for yes or no I wrote in bold letters, NO... and on the third question i put n/a...hope i didnt screw that up by writing that..you can tell whoever compose that RFE IMBRA form did not proof it very well....lol

The instructions were to check anything that applied. There wasn't any place to check off No or N/A. Your signature may be enough to swear you're telling the whole truth.

FYI, I was touched an received an email AFTER I returned the form!
jlg721
akatagirl,

glad to hear I'm not the only one confused by #2. I think I'll follow your lead on filling out the RFE...just to be safe.

what the , i mean a , what did you say?

for folks who have already got there I130 approval, i would advice to continue with k3 cause that file(I130) takes a while at the consulate. But remember that the FINAL decision is yours to make.

got mine too.wll send it first thing wed morning....
Jersey Girl
Hi sudhirbathija. If the I-130 is approved first, I'll continue with the K3 as well. It's not clear yet if K3 will still be faster. I'd like to think that IMBRA did not add a great deal of time, but it remains to be seen. As hafiz30 says, it's a personal decision.

Personally, I'd like to have my husband here sooner, even though he would not be eligible to work. There would be more waiting, but at least we'd be waiting together. We understand that the CR-1 (I-130) is more valuable, and the ultimate goal, but it might mean being apart about a year instead of roughly 6 months.

Hey, I'm not getting any younger, and it was never our plan to be celibate during the first year of marriage!

lol i wanna see someone take that RFE from the mail person sign it and then run and give it right back to them. You could have a preposted priority mail envelope with tracking on it ready to go. Just be on the look out for that mail person(i would use mail man, but trying to be politically correct)

The new I-129F form (available on the USCIS website) has the IMBRA questions already on it. As long as you use that form you won't get an IMBRA RFE.

Good luck.
khattak
JERSY GIRL. Both your and my cases time line is exactly the same EXCEPT that i dont know what "Touched" means ? I never got any email from USCIS but other than that our time line are the same. Can any body help me understand how can i figure out whether i was touched or not?
ual777
I sent out the new form and it was recieved on June 26th. It was touched on the 28th, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. What does that mean????? huh.gif
Jersey Girl
Hi khattak. The best way to guesstimate your journey is to update your timeline and add that information to your signature. Comparing yourself to me may not be terribly helpful. The site collects statistics that help posters gauge wait times based on couples with the same Service Center and country where the foreign partner resides.

To build your timeline : Homepage > Immigration Timelines > Edit/Add My Entry
To do your signature : Homepage > My Controls > Personal Profile > Edit Signature

Being touched means some sort of action has been taken on your file. You'll know because you'll set up a customer account at https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp Watch the dates. If they change, you've been touched. You can also choose to get an email alert when this happens.

I was so nervous about this RFE, I called the "misinformation" line this morning and waited on hold for darn near an hour, for them to tell me to write "NONE" beside ques. #2 and N/A beside ques. #3.

I really can't understand why the RFE was so poorly put together (deficient). For a place that doesn't like you to leave things "blank"......I wonder what the heck they were thinking when they didn't provide a proper alternative to leaving the ques. blank huh.gif

Anybody notice that the signature box was kinda small??

Sometimes I wonder about that place........wacko.gif

Well anyways its over and done....on its way back to the NBC....hopefully things will get moving now.
miker32us
Does anyone know what the "A" number is on the front of the RFE? Will that be our NVC number?

I am in teh same situation, and I will continue with both and even when I get a K3 , it is cheaper for my husband to fly back and have his i-130 interview a few months later than go through process of AOS and EAD, pay all that extra money and wait another year or so to get a green card. Now that I moved to Miami , waiting time here for all this is obscene.
That's just my choice though. If my i-130 gets to embassy sooner, K3 will be abandoned anyway.

Good luck!
