1. wait for operator at NVC to say that the package has been shipped off to the embassy (they might tell me what day they sent it too?)

2. go to the DHL website

3. select track

4. track by reference
** what is the "reference"?

many many thanks to all who've helped me along the way

When the NVC send your case to the embassy, the automated system will update with a message letting you know what date your case was sent.

Once you know what date the case was sent, go to www.dhl.com. Then select USA as your location, at the top of the website click on track and then track by reference. The reference you need to put in is EXPEDITE IV SECTION if its a CR1 visa. Then put in a date range which will incorporate the date that the NVC sent your case to the embassy. Once this is done the search will show all the packages that were sent by the NVC, look down the list to find the location of your embassy in the destination column. If there is only one package going to your embassy, it is likely that is your case.

In the reference Input box type “I-730” you can tweak your query by date.

Reference is nothing just an index number here.

I can understand your feelings. Just wait for week and then send an e.mail to the concerning embassy that’s what I did to find out embassy receive our case or not.

Thank you very much russ79 and all of you!! I think I found the package and it suppouse it is delivered. Al NVC told me that my case was completed al june 29, but in DHL there is no any case to my embassy ship on that day, just on june 28 and other on July 3, both of them are delivered! I suppose may be one of them could be mine!! Although at NVC told me that may be on July 30 would be my package at the embassy, what do you think about?

Please, tell me what is next?? what is suppouse to do now?? My case is a permanent resident petition, do you know if I have to call or do I have to wait they do?? Please tell me if you know if my housband have to como to our country to be with me and my daughters at the interview or not? please! Thank you again!!

pharmacist, I did get the NVC operator to tell me the day it was supposed to have been shipped.
The Embassy did respond to emails and was quick about it. They also post an interview schedule with both USCIS and NVC number by day of the interview. When they responded to my email with a positive it was also on the appointment web site. It took about two weeks from the day NVC said it was sent until offical notice. I did call the Embassy at some awful rate and the told me it was on a fax they received and didn't have it in the system. Seems it was in processing. All this stuff about DHL IMHO is a waste of time and energy; I tried it and there's not way to tell whether or not your stuff is there or even sent. It's highly likely though not certain because there's no explicit tracking that you can get saying your USCIS and NVC numbers were in the shipment.

This is how I did mine:

I found out through the NVC that my case was complete - following that I checked the NVC auto system and found that it had been forwarded to London - so I emailed London Consular to ask them to notify me when they received it. I checked the tracking system on DHL daily until I noticed a parcel had been delivered after the date given to me on the NVC auto system. The day after dhl had delivered it and it had been signed for I had an email from the embassy to say it was there.

Ofcourse you are never sure if your case is in any specific delivery so its just guesswork.

Good luck good.gif
