I just received a call from Senator Specter's (PA) office. I was told that petitions that have already been approved (NOA's) and sent to the embassy and had to be recalled are being processed last... I guess everyone already knows this already, but its good to find out something. Even though it means those who submitted in March are being screwed over while they process more recently received petitions. Appartently they are sending the RFE's to all peitions that have NOT been previously sent overseas first, before moving on to people that actually were approved. (Where is there any logic in that!???)

I know people have been receiving differnt things from congressmen and senator's, so hopefully this may not be 100% correct either. Either way, my wedding is trashed, and yet more money down the drain.. Thank's USCIS and thank you Congress for screwing us over and over!

Does that mean they're starting those with NOA2s from scratch?? I'm so sorry crying.gif I feel really guilty for some reason.

Well, I just got an update saying an RFE was mailed today.

So I guess this senator's not so right about it.

Next question is: how long will it take to have an interview resheduled?

We figured that already. Itīs just ridiculous they would pass that information on. Do they tink they are doing the right thing?
I got my case reopened more than a week ago and since then, not a touch!

If it was a matter of how their computer system works, or puting the files together....
But now that my case is actually reopened, did they simply choose not to send the RFE before sending it to everyone else? Even people who applied in june?

I know... There has to be some sort of system for this. I keep seeing many people that sent their petitions in April, May and even June get the RFE's. I don't see why they spent the money and time to send me out a letter saying that they received the case back from the embassy. They should have just sent the damn RFE then! How can they be this inefficient? It's like they are trying to make this take longer than it has too. They could have most of these petitions cleared out by now and sent back. Instead they are processing all cases submitted recently. Why in the world should be be punished for submitting our petitions in March!?

Yeah.. I guess most of the people working there and even the supervisors could care less. It's not like they are a regular business. We can't choose to not use their services and go to one another "company". Have to say though, that would be nice. Then things would actually move, as a "company" would want to correct their mistakes as soon as possible to please their customers. Oh well, wishful thinking.

I can confirm this, as I too got a call today that was the same. So aparently a memo of some sort must be getting passed around. Also the department of state pretty much re-itterated the same thing when I called in.
Seems anything I was able to do has kind of been pointless I guess. But maybe I helped a little bit to speed up the process a month. It's just lewd that those of us closer to the deadline are getting processed first!

I find it amazing how screwed up this process has become.. Embassy recalls placed last, recent submissions being put in the front, with the exception of a few.. Certainly not the way to do business.

In fact, if the Government were a business, they would be bankrupt in short order. You would think that after 230 years, our Government would have learned the concept of efficiency. Nope. Not yet. Perhaps someday they will!

My only consolation is that I only need to go through this one time.

when it becomes less of an incentive to create a job for yourself like it is currently in govt. then will things speed up. Otherwise, they will always be creating something to instill more demand for themselves.

They were probably doing that really fast so now weīre staring to see NOA2 petitions getting their RFEs.

oh btw i got a e-mail yesterday saying ym case has been re-opend..so much for being procesed last

I agree that there is a lot of misinformation being spread out there by many different people, including our own representatives. The facts are that no one knows how these cases will be processed at this point and we will not know until the cases actually start being processed, approved, and reapproved.

It is still a good thing to put pressure on your representatives, USCIS, NVC and consulate to let them know we are disastisfied with our government. The more of us that get involved and get active with the abovementioned entities, the better off we will be.

Any guesses about the order of processing is pure speculation at this point.

Specter was the first one I called. I have since called Rick Santorum's office and Congressman Platts office. Both seemed to show a lot of interest when I spoke with them, but I am not counting on anything at this point. When I spoke with Santorum's office the second time, they didn't seem to understand what was going on. They "seemed generally concerned" that I was approved back in April, then had my petition recalled. Both had me fax all my information to them. I figure it doesn't hurt anything to keep trying. I will be no worse off if nothing comes of this.

I will let everyone know if I hear anything back.
Lewis
Thanks very much!

I also will keep everyone informed. I have contacted all of my congresspeople and they are in the process of looking into it at this point, I probably won't get any info for at least a week or two. My expedite request was sent in on June 19th, the USCIS gave me no info about their response. My lawyer says just be patient, the NOA2s are being processed slower due because they had to get back to the service centers and be reunited with the original files to be put in the system. He also says that sometimes he gets the rfe and sometimes his client does, there seems to be no pattern whatsoever to what the USCIS is doing. Most likely it just has to do where the petition is and how easy it is to be logged back into the system.

NOA2s are starting to get their cases back in the system, this is a good thing. After reading most of these posts, it seems at this time only one of the VJ NOA2s has received an email that they are getting the RFE at this point but many other are starting to get emails that their cases are being looked at. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Thanks again!

This week was a good one for me emotionally.

I recieved a touched 3 times, on 6/27, 6/29 and 6/30.

And today, finally, something arrived via snail mail. Another I-797 to let me know the case has been reopened.

My case was reopened on June 22. I then received one touch on Saturday June 24. Nothing since then. Trying to wait patiently... I just don't understand why they couldn't just send me the RFE when they touched my case on the 24. It could be one more that they get done. Why put it off. How long could it take to send the RFE, like 1 minute!? Why touch my case at all, it was already approved, and I didn't use an IMB. I wrote a two page letter on how we met and our relationship up until we turned in the I-129. It's just rediculus that people that have met in person many times and espceially over a couple year span are treated like this. I have nothing to hide, and really I could care less if my financee sees that I don't have a criminal record, just get the ball moving!

At least I will never have to go through this again after this, but I can't keep spending money going to see her mad.gif We need our money for moving expenses. Whoever is in charge of USCIS should be terminated with no pension for their lack of readiness. I hope they rot in hell, for the pain they are putting all of us through..
Maria&Robert
I know what you mean about simply sending the RFE. Just send the damn thing. Just......send.......it.
For the mother of love just send it.

Hey man ive been to poland a few times in the last 3 years my parents are from there and my grandparents live there. Zakopane is great!!

Yeah, I enjoy going to Poland, as long as I have extra money to burn, haha. My Fiancee and I spent new years in Zakopane, and I sure I will be going back soon, however it would be nice to save a few bucks if she could have just come at the end of July like we had orginally planned. A plane ticket at this time of the year to Poland (flying to Berlin), would run around 900-1000, money I would rather spend on our wedding, apartment, etc. It looks like I will have have to spend that money, as it doesn't appear that she will be able to come for a least two more months... sad.gif

Well Chertoff is in charge of the Department of Homeland Security of which the USCIS is a part.

My fiancee told me once that Chertoff sounds like a Russian name, and that "Chert-" means "devil". This could explain a lot.

if i am not mistaken all cases are assigned numbers and are processed by different people. There is no line that you get into to have your visa processed. There is no single file line. Many lines exist and each person processing your file works at a different pace.
