I just read somewhere that it is getting very difficult to obtain a K-1 visa from the US consulate in Casablanca, Morocco. If anyone here has a personal experience, knowledge or some information about this I would be grateful to know what your experience was. And some advice would be welcomed too. Thanks

Well.... I didn't process through Morocco, but from what I've seen here, individual experiences can run the gamut from "a piece of cake" to "very difficult or impossible." Just take some time to read through the posts here in the ME/NA forum -- there are many threads regarding the consulate in Casablanca. These may give you an idea of some of the issues that couples in Morocco are facing.

Do you have any "red flags" in your relationship ? Such as -- considerable age difference (with the woman much older,) major religious differences, language differences (with little in common,) a very short relationship/little time spent together before engagement, being involved in previous immigration petitions, a divorce recently preceding the relationship, money being transferred between parties, etc. Issues like these are not *necessarily* fodder for automatic denial, but *may* warrant severe scrutiny on the part of the consular officer.

We have a huge Moroccan posse here -- I'm sure someone will be along very soon with more specific info ! Wishing you all the best in your visa journey....

As "WOM" pointed out in her post you should study the ME/NA forum and get a broad range of results...It is a great idea for you to read and study as much as you are able to get a feel of what to expect...From personal point of view our experience thru Casablanca was rather painless...They processed our K1 visa application under 4 months and with standard AP(administrative processing-security check) my fiance was in NY in less then 5 months...you may say that our case had some of the red flags but they were not very pronounced...the interview is I believe the pivotal point where the relationship gets the highest amount of scrutiny...at times it may even seem that it is a hit or miss situation but I believe that it the relationship is valid and considerable amount of evidence present the experience should be a positive one...If you have any specific questions please feel free to contact me thru PM at any time...I will be more then happy to assist you...Good luck, stay positive and keep on reading...Dorothy
