My son and I are just hanging out watching cartoons. There's a lazy feeling in the air. Mohammed (if the internet cooperates in his town) is going to call this morning. These 2 like to talk. My teenager comes home from visiting family for 3 weeks this week and I am really looking forward to it. I really miss him. Yes, it IS possible to actually miss a teenager. (Ha ha) No one has been able to get the boy behind the wheel of a car, but my father finally did, so the teenaged thing is now driving. ALHAMDULELLAH. I can hardly wait to take him out and let him practice. There goes the insurance premium...

Hope you are all having a good day.

Bless you Just Waiting on your teenager driving. I will not let mine even think about it until his grades get allot better. But since he will be 18 soon he can wait until he move and works and can pay for his own insurance. :-)

Yes it is a lazy day. Its raining here.

Hello everyone. Well I was talking to Hachemi on Skype and they lost the internet connection. Algerian internet is so bad. mad.gif So I am waiting to see if he comes back online. I have good news. Hachemi called the Dr that did his medical exam. All his test are A-ok and she has the documents ready. He is going to Algiers tomorrow to pick it up. He can call the embassy for an interview as soon as he picks it up. Whew!!! We are getting close now. I am so excited.
Jean, my son is just 13. And sometimes when he goes to stay with his grandmother in the country. She lets him drive the backroads a lot (she is with him). It is hard to beleive this elderly lady lets him do this. She is brave. I am not that brave. laughing.gif At least he is getting some experience. Oh and I dread the insurance premiums too.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Ugh. The internet. I am feeling your pain. Some nights the internet from Egypt is so bad all we do is go off and online. Sometimes he travels to a different city because there is no internet at all. Last night it was so bad, we were both so frustrated. We have both taken a vow that as soon as he gets here (enshaa Allah) we're staying away from the computer. We can't bear it anymore really. It's been 1 year and 1 month that we have been sitting online WAITING for this bad dream to come to an end.

You know, really I think it's great your son is getting a wee bit of practice in. My son has been afraid to learn. Traffic scares him. I don't blame him. In this city we have a lot of Dale Earnhardt Jr wannabes that like to make up the laws as they go, and just driving to the store can be trying at times. He needed to learn to drive so he CAN get a job. He will have cover part of his insurance and gas money. Geez, I have to tell you this is all weird feeling. It seems like yesterday he was a little tiny boy holding my hand to cross the street. Now he's edging his way into manhood. (Gawd, I also have to teach Moh how to drive and that scares me far worse... HAHAHA.)

Meriem,

Please make sure your fiance gets a copy of the medical for his own records.

We're hanging out at home too. Last night and today we are having thunderstroms and it's just sort of crummy outside. We might go to my mom's this afternoon and Youssef might head to Minneapolis with one of his friends. We got his letter yesterday for his biometrics appointment - July 12th, so about 2 weeks away. I'm kind of surprised it came so fast but I'm not going to complain! Hopefully his EAD and AP will be processed shortly after but I'm not holding my breath. I'm sure the GC interview is far into the future but it's progress. I feel like this is moving much faster than the first set of paperwork which was entirely drawn out and horrible! Hope everyone has a great day!

Thanks everyone. Hachemi is on his way to Algiers as I write this. I told him the minute he has the medical documents in his hands to call the embassy, then call me.
