Does anyone know what the non-US citizen receives about the crimal record? Is it just a letter or what? Do they need to do anything with it? I told my fiance to expect something in the mail at some point, but just wondering if anyone knows if they need to do something with it, or is it just a notice?

I don't have any crimal record, so I am not worried about that, just hoping she doesn't need to send something back, as that would take more time...

My fiance had an interview scheduled for May 25, 2006, however Pope decided to vist Warsaw that weekend and embassy cancelled due to streets being close... Can't believe I am having to go through this because of the Pope.....

I think that what Ive read is that actually an officer speaks with your fiance in private during the actual interview, to inform them about whether or not and what kind of criminal past you may have.

If you do have a criminal record, I think that it will be disclosed to the beneficiary along with the packet 3.

Packet 3? That is some pretty sensitive stuff to be sending about someone in the mail in packet 3...


Maybe it varies from consulate to consulate, but my money is on finding it out at the interview during a sitdown with an officer.

That's what I was thinking. But it seems that it would slow things up more, and be very iresponsible of our government to simply send our background checks in the mail. I am really hoping that they just tell them about the background at the interview, just so its one less thing my fiance has to do before she get this interview.
