I´ve been looking at the embassy site to start printing out and preparing in advance the forms I´ll need, but as everything in Brasil, I have a feeling the site is a little outdated in requirements. Can someone that went through Rio recently tell me EXACTLY what was asked? Included extra documents for the I-134, etc.
Thanks!

Its exactly the same as the website, except for the 'sworn statement' that comes on the packet 4, and they dont have it to download on the website.

So that Packet 3 copy is up to date? Not just the forms in there but also what you fill, what you send and what you take with you?

When I sent the G-325 to Charles so he could start the process, I got it from the american not the brazilian site (it was outdated, no wonder eh?). I've printed all the forms when we began our journey, but when I'm asked to send the Packet 3 I'll double check, I don't trust the Embassy site for that.

I´ll do the same, have everything ready and then compare with the packet 3, if all is right, I´ll be ready, if any forms are outdated, I´ll just copy the info to the new form.

Packet 3 that my Fiance in Brazil received was the same as what was listed on the website. You could begin the paperwork based upon the website doc.s and then when packet 3 arrives if there is any variance, then make whatever adjustments as needed.
By the way. The version of the i-134 that she received in packet 3, and the one on USCIS website were a different version. I tracked down the version # that she received and used that, rather than waiting for her to send it to me. I don't recall for sure if the form on the consulate website was the same as the one that she got in packet 3. I think it was.
One thing that is not up to date on the consulate web site was the interview schedule in Rio. They did not post May until May. She actually received the interview letter in April, before they posted the schedule on the website.
And - a big AND: She was informed of the interview just 12 days prior to the date. So if they are still on this kind of scheduling, you may need to make fairly quick arrangements to get to Rio.

In that part it´s fine, I live an hour from Rio, drive there all the time, have a place to stay there and know myself around Rio like the back of my hand, so I won´t have any troubles finding citibank to pay the fee, or getting there on time.

I´ll be calling the consulate ahead of time after I send my packet 3 to make sure I know the date in advance.
Also, do you still have this form number? Fiance is almost ready to send me the I-134 and if the packet brings a different one we would have that one already filled out. Thanks!

For the I134, the version was:
Form I-134 (Rev. 10/12/00)Y
There are later versions, but this is the one that she received in packet 3. And it is still the form on the consulate web site.

Dont worry too much about the version... The newer, the best... They wouldnt mind...
I got all my forms from USCIS website and didnt check if it matches with the packet 3... The info is almost about the same, so, the newer version should be the best...

PS (Laura, check my interview thread and you will see the list of forms and documents you should bring to the interview, plus, all the evidence you have to prove your relationship)
PS2 (Just to remember, now you just need the last year tax return, not the past 3)

I might take 3 just in case, no? These people are crazy.

I´m still waiting on the approval though, but wanna make sure the affidavit gets here way ahead. Also, it seems they´re scheduling interviews pretty fast these days.

We used the I-134 form from the USCIS website and had no problems.
If you feel better bring the last 3 forms bring them but they returned the first 2 as soon as they checked the documents.
Hopefully your approval will come soon and good luck.

I would follow instructions and packet 3 forms to the letter. The CO asked if I have 3 years tax returns. Why risk anything.

Apparently Rlt got his in 2 weeks (one month from the approval) before his petition was recalled.

Yeah, it went fast for me too. It took them 2 weeks to send me packet 4 and the interview would be held 2 weeks from there. Oh, well. [sigh]
I used the affidavit of support they have up online. The one that came with packet 3 was an older version. I wonder if my fiance will have to send me all the stuff again, since he sent me the forms and bank stuff back in May.
Also, I'll have to go to Polícia Federal again. The criminal background certificate thing expires within 3 months, which would be by the end of July.
