Not a great feat, but it's one step closer to my wonderful one!!!

Should we work on the D-230 and the I-864 now?

Great! You are one step closer. I think, you can start working on DS 230 (have your husband sign and return it to you) and I-864 (it needs to be notarized). Especially, start gathering the tax transcripts, W-2s, employer's letter for income verification, etc.

Yayyyy MrsWhizz good.gif No great feat ohmy.gif you know it is lol it was for me anyway. Each step you take in this is a big thing....as you said it brings you one step closer to the end and your wonderful one......so congrats on another step down.

Yes you sure can get things together and work on the I-864 & DS-230. They are the last steps aside from the IV Bill kicking.gif kicking.gif

You're right, Aussie. Every little step we take makes me feel more confident.

I was wondering...Since, I'm not sure when they will generate the I-864, how soon should I get my bank and employer letters? I want them to be as current as possible. Here I am doing this and godsavethequeen already has his papers in order...lol. God Lord! How do I function without him? LOL!

They could generate the I-864 within a couple of weeks of receiving the AOS fee bill so get moving girl good.gif You are fine to get things together now. Have a look at some timelines in signatures and you will get more of an idea.

Cool! One more round of quick questions:

1. If my roommate co-sponsers, we are not considered the same household as she is not a relative (at least by blood.) Am I correct about this?

2. If my parents co-sponser, does one or the other of them have to file an I-864A if they combine their income?

what address did you send your AOS bill to? I am trying to find the must current address because I am doing the time saver tips.

Cheers and congrats!

to the best of my knowledge the shortcuts now contain the most current address when the edits were just completed.

have you checked out the most recent thread on the I-864 USCIS registery entry as some things have changed. Whilst this is in its early stages of implementation, it could be best to wait on the I-864 and instructions from NVC as to what is required, before sending in the self generated I-864. Either that or find someone that has only really recently received their I-864 packet so you will know the exact requirments.

OOO....good point Aussie. I'm going to go check that out now. I don't know why, but something tells me not to use the generated stuff!
