Hi guys,
Just wondering if any of you could help....
I was thinking of having my husbands passport renewed before he left as it expires in January....
Has any of you done this recently? The reason I am asking is before they request that you send the old passport together with your new passport's application, and I am wondering if it is that they actually keep it after the issue the new one, or if they send it back with the new one?
Could you please let me know?
Thanks!!!

They normaly send the old passport back to you with the corner cut off.... whether it is renewed in the UK or here in the States...

My husband just did this himself in April (was going to expire early July). We waited until he entered the country on his visa.
Send the expiring in with the form and your old and new one will be returned to you. Ours was returned in 2 weeks which we were delightfully surprised by how fast it was!

We got my hubby's done and they returned it quite quickly and they included the old one with the corner cut off.
