my I129F status was touched today but i did not recieve any email from them . I checked my email address and that is correct. It is actually a hotmail address. Is anyone else having any issues with the updates ? I have changed my email address twice and it not working and email addresses are valid. Is there any other way of knowing why it was touched ?

A Touch wont always mean an email will be sent, it just means for what ever reason, cheque cashed etc, someone looked at your petition, you will only get an email notification for RFE or approval, some people dont ever get emails not even for approvals!! yes.gif

I have also signed up on the USCIS website to receive e-mail updates. However, I have never received any e-mails from them despite the fact that my case has been "touched". From what I understand this seems to be the case w/ some people. Meaning, some people do get notified by e-mail while others do not - it all seems to be luck of the draw. Remember it's the USCIS we're talking about - everything is chaotic. Good luck.

You only get an email when they have somthing to tell you, all other touches mean NOTHING!! therefore they dont email you good.gif

A touch simply means that someone at the USCIS works on your case on that day. My I-130 was touched total 5 times before the approval. I never got any email when it was touched, but they emailed me when it was approved.

True you usually only get email when then have something to tell you about your case, however...every touch means SOMETHING...even if it means a check was cashed, someone looked at ect. Your best bet to know if your petition was "touched" is to check the USCIS site daily and see if the "last updated" date has changed.
