Full Version: Help Requested: Need to update Guides and Examples for new I-129f and IMBRA effects
VisaJourney.com > General Discussion Area > Site Related Discussion - Updates, Ideas, etc.

Captain Ewok
We need to update all the guides and Example forms due to the IMBRA effect. This includes the FAQ's.

Areas of impact off the top of my head (we need to identify all impacted pages so please reply if you know of more):

Example forms for I-129f (K1 and K3):
http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-129F.pdf
http://www.visajourney.com/examples/k3-I-1...xp-11-30-04.pdf

Guides:
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...om&page=k1guide
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...om&page=k3guide

FAQ:
http://www.visajourney.com/faq/k1k2visa-I129f.html
http://www.visajourney.com/faq/k1k2visa-application.html
http://www.visajourney.com/faq/k3k4visa-I129f.htm

Add a page in the Guides for IMBRA related FAQ's

More?

We need to make sure that the pages above refer to the correct questions. Example: One the old forms Q17 might not be the same as Q17 on the new (it may now be Q18, etc). Also we need to make sure to point out at least in the K1 Guides what to add to the package if you are affected by the IMBRA questions (have past convictions or dealt with an IMB). We need to add notes in the K3 area explaining IMBRA and the questions and how they do/ do not related to K3's (since they also use the I-129f form. FAQ's need to include all the relavent info and be updated to reflect IMBRA.

I need help with the Acrobat example files. If anyone here that is experienced with Acrobat and has a copy can fill out a new version of the form and remove the instruction pages (to make it easy to read) that would be great. Attach it to your post in this thread for peer review.

If you post corrections to Guides/FAQ's please give a "was" "is" format for your corrections. Example:

QUOTE
"3.1)...I am engaged to a foreign national. What do I do to bring my fiance(e) here to get married?
A..Provided you are a US Citizen, you begin by filing an I-129F, petition for fiance(e) visa. As part of the initial petition process, you will be required to show that you have personally met your fiance(e) within the previous 2 years. It is difficult to obtain an exception to this rule. If your fiance(e) has unmarried children under 21, they can move to the US also. List all children under age 21 on the I-129F petition, whether or not they are going to move to the United States. When this petition is approved, the fiance(e) can apply for the K1/K2 visa. The K2 visa is used for the children. Any procedures applicable for the K1 visa are automatically applied to the children.

For the K-3 I-129F, need the checked boxed removed in Q 6 for both sides as it is showing both the married and single boxes as checked instead of just the married.
Otherwise I cant see anything else that needs changing good.gif

aussie it wont let me upload any more files. sad.gif can i email it to you or something?

Im in the same boat tongue.gif

Go to 'my controls' then down on the left you will see 'Manage Your Attachments'. Delete the K-3 I-129F attachment posted earlier and that will then allow you to upload the one with the changes.

As I'm new in the process, I don't have a lot of know-how when it comes to all this stuff, but I'm willing to lend a hand, so let me know.

good.gif yup that was missing.

Do we actually have the NVC shortcuts on the FAQ or guidelines? huh.gif (If not would it be a good idea to add them since they are always requested? unsure.gif )

So far I agree with the updates yes.gif

nessa, go for it!
If there are any spelling or grammer errors, we'll help pick them out. You've spent a lot of time studing the topic and you spend a lot of time at VJ--I'll bet you have lots of good things to add!
Plus, your English is great!

Thank you. I wish, tho. I'm a newbie here actually, when it comes to the actual process I know nothing yet, we have just begun. We have just sent the package, and that was even before we started readin the threads here and getting advice.
I want after all our process is done to help people more, or after we have been through more of it, the paperwork I mean. For now I really don't qualify for the job, plus I couldn't possibly know how to make changes on Acrobat tongue.gif
YnaYeBa0808
thanks guys, anything that i can do to help. after all that you have done for me... smile.gif oh btw... i got the trial version of adobe acrobat professional on their website and it expires in about 28 days. so anything that involves edits on the pdfs let me know asap. i had to play around with it a little bit but got the hang of it. believe me it was alot of trial and error. hahahha... i should have my boss buy us the software so we can use it at work. it's pretty neat... once you get the hang of it.

now if i could only type up a fillable RFE form... hahahaha KIDDING.

hugs to everyone smile.gif

edited due to spelling errors, my hands were working faster than my brain... as usual...
