Woke up late, had to stop for gas, got to work a half hour late and now I am donne with the work I have to done. Basically for the next 8 hours or at least most of it, I will be surfing the internet. Good thing I'm leaving soon. I told them that I will be moving so I will have to resign 3 weeks ago and actually gave them like 2 months notice. Now I just have to sit here bored. This job is sooooo not Chalenging. Have a good Thursday everyone.

Hey everybody! Hachemi is having his medical today. I have not heard anything from him. He has to go to 4 different places in Algiers to complete his medical. Exam, xray, vaccinations, and blood work. Man, we are getting so close. It is so hard to believe we have made it this far in the process. Ginfar said it will take about a week to get the results, then he can call for an interview. And they got their interview with in a few days.

Hope everyone has a good day. good.gif

I've been having a bit (understated grossly) of a meltdown the last few days. STILL waiting to hear about the job, still sending off resumes, still praying, still wishing the embassy would finish Mohammed's visa, waiting waiting waiting. My life isn't even MINE anymore with all this stupid waiting. I've also noticed that cheap food isn't very good for the figure. Neither is comfort eating. This is NOT the time I need to be gaining weight. This morning I got really fed up with myself and went down to the lake to walk. There is a walking path around most of it, which turns into a horse path that goes way back into the woods. I walked the whole thing twice. I will do this every day until something in my life changes.

There is a stream back behind the spillway far from all the "people places" that is so lovely. All you can hear back there is the water and the birds and the wind in the trees. I sat by the stream for a long time and just let mind mingle and tumble with the water. There are a lot of butterflies back there. They like that place too. After a long while of just forgetting who I am I followed the stream back into the trees where it's very rocky and a few trees have fallen acrossed the stream. I was just standing and watching the water when I saw something dark and furry slip over a rock and disappear near me. I waited, and up popped an ermine. He was so busy hunting in the rocks he didn't even see me! (An ermine is a reddish black little critter that looks like a ferret). When he was about to sniff my shoe I said softly "hey... hey.... you better watch where you're going..." He didn't even hear me. I said "hey" about four more times and he suddenly realized I was a PEOPLE! and scurried away. When I came out of the trees from the horse path, there is a meadow where the grass and wildflowers are as tall as my head. I had another surprise... I almost tripped over a woodchuck who was sitting in the middle of the path eat clover. We kind of scared each other.

I love nature and wildlife and birds and this was so healing... not only for my expanding body but for my tired mind and soul. I forgot about EVERYTHING. Come rain or shine or even future employment (please god the bank account is running out) OR THE DAMN US GOVERNMENT I will take a walk like this every morning.

Anyway, just wanted to share. I have pics of these places (wish I had the stupid camera with me TODAY) if you want to see them. Hope everyone has a good day. (Come on phone... RING)

I totally sympathize with you about waiting for job calls. I must have sent out 40 resumes by now and I've gotten one, count them one phone interview and was not offered the job....I'm starting to get really depressed. I did send an e-mail about an apartment in NYC this morning and got a call already from the agency. I have to call her back but at least it might be a start. Now if I can just get the job to pay for the apartment....

Yep. It's brutal. I am be bombarded by insurance companies inviting me to "informational interviews"... i.e. they want to suck in potential sales agents. I'm not cut out for it. Have you posted your resume on all the job sites? People will find you, surprisingly. I'll say a basket full of prayers for you.

The Job market is tough right now. Keep plugging away. You will find something. don't just send out resume, call the companies and think about temp work while you are looking for work. The postition I am in right now, started out as a temp position.

Jean... *hugs*
i'm still praying for ya... hope that phone rings soon with a job offer!!!

Hello-
Well I just dropped the dog off at the vet then I went to the gym and that's about as exciting as it's gonna get today. I have to go Father's Day shopping with my brother but other than that it's summer and it's warm so I'll probably go to the beach. I hope everyone is well. Have a great day!

Nothing much new here. Had a nice dinner last night with husband. Had delicious lamb ribs as an appetizer. The main course was disapointing, but ah well.

Going to a wedding of a childhood friend this weekend and I can already feel the jealousy jinn rearing it's ugly head. I want a wedding, a fancy dress, presents, custom M&Ms, the whole 9 yards. *sigh* The sunken garden better still be available when we get around to having one.

Well shoot! Hachemi did not get to finish his medical. They told him to come on Thursday at nine. So he traveled to Algiers and saw the Dr. today for the physical. And by the way the Dr is a lady. blush.gif The xray clinic was open, but not the place to get vaccinations and blood work. So, now he has to go back on Monday. Suxs

Haha Jean, I'm sorry but I have to laugh about that job posting.

Amera, the advice you got from someone else on this thread is so right. DO NOT just send your resume and cover letter (you're sending cover letters right???) and wait for them to call you. Call them to follow up; ask them if they got your resume, tell them quickly why you're awesome and perfect for the job, and tell them you look forward to hearing from them.

OK I'm having a better day today than I was yesterday. Seeing all you girls on security checks reminds me how lucky we are just to be together. I hope your stupid clearances will be done soon.

And yes, I do think there must be an inordinate amount of nose-picking going on there.

A lot of the jobs I've found don't have phone numbers sad.gif They just have e-mail, fax or addresses to send cover letters (yes I'm sending them) and resumes..... but the ones I find I will call. BTW I got a call today about one job! It's as a grassroots campaign organizer - she should call back tomorrow to discuss details etc with me - it looks like it might be a great job (that I KNOW I'm qualififed for). *fingers crossed*

Good luck to you! And a big yep yep to the phone number thing. A lot of prospective employers don't list their numbers. IF you actually even get a company name, you can look it up of course, but they like to be the ones holding the reins and its very frustrating.

I have not heard back on the position and I'm losing hope. Why do these people call so gung ho and then just leave you to rot????? Blah.
