I have heard mixed feelings about Spirit..... I've heard it is horrible and I have also heard it is ok.

Besides paying for your bags, you also have to pay for snacks, food, juices, sodas, coffee and water on the flight and by credit
card.

There is no meal served on the flight....... There is no onboard entertainment if my memory is correct that people have told me.

If you check your bags at the airport it is $25.00 for the first and second bag....

If you check your bags and pay online it is $15.00 for the first and $25.00 for the second.......

If at all possible try go with LAN.....

I do not recommend spirit airlines, I have been traveling last May and I left Washington DC at 5pm on 24th, I was in Lima on 26th around 1 am, I missed my first anniversary because they were so not ready...broken planes...because of that I missed my flight, they gave us a hotel and instead of leaving Fl at 4pm the next day we left at 6pm...something like that. On my way back, similar story, plain was broken...again...and we were waiting 5 hours in Fl. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Also, you have a right only on bag, everything extra will be returned. Good luck!

On all of this I have to add that you do not have a food at the plain, one bottle of water or cup of coffee cost $3, little snacks that you can buy for $0.25 cost $4, you cant pay with cash only credit card...it is horible....but maybe since then some things are changed...wait for another reply and see. Price is more convenient, but paying everything after all is not worthed you are overpaying everything...Good luck one more time!

I heard horrible stories about Spirit, If I'm you I'll fly by Lan Chile, the best airline going from NY-Lim-NY, it's a little expensive but you are paying for good service.

I have flown both on Lan and American airlines from Miami to Lima. Lan by far was the best for comfort, I have to say it was the best airline I have ever been on, and I have done a bit of world traveling. I am taking delta to Lima this week and Avianca to Lima at Christmas. Has anyone flown on them?

I have never flown on either of them, but how was American Airlines to Peru? I have flown on American to florida and to Puerto Rico - seemed OK to me. Just wanted to double check

American Airlines and Delta Air Lines is good, I traveled with them once without any problems. They might be a little bit expensive then Spirit, but definitely recommended.

LAN is our 1st choice when flying to Lima..... There is no better airline to South America from the U.S.

American was ok..... felt as though I was in a cattle car.... very cramped especially for a 6ft guy like myself and not much room to move around for 5 hours of flight time....... Did fly once to Lima in Business Class and of course no complaints.... Thank you Air Miles

I've also flown on Copa through Panama to Lima and they are also good.

Would I fly Spirit to save $100 or $200..... NO WAY !!! I would much rather pay the extra and fly LAN

I got a really good deal with American - 520 round trip... so I grabbed it. LAN had rediculous prices over 800 round trip so although I love that airline, I couldn't do it. I also flew Copa, great experience too.

The important thing is that I get to Peru for the interview, if I have to suffer during the flight then so be it, haha.

MandyR : We agree with you a 100%, I found a tkt for January NY-LIM-NY via AA for $486, not bad right?? the only problem is that my doctor doesn't want me to travel with the belly, I'm pretty sad-upset about that 'cause I know about a few friends that traveled to Peru being pregnant.

Copa is a good airline too, plus the stop in Panama is super short, less than one hour and good prices.

The only problem I had with Avianca was a rude flight attendant in Bogota who told me she was going to send me back to Miami (no idea why, she was just taking tickets and apparently thought it was funny?) - food isn't great, but at least you get food!

When I took American Airlines this summer I had a bad experience. I had to take an earlier flight so I called them to have them change my LAN flight as well. I was taking LAN to Miami and American to Raleigh. So when I got to the airport on the day I was supposed to go home the LAN ticket agents told me my flight was canceled. Naturally I was very upset and a little afraid. I called American Airlines in Peru and they told me it wasn't there fault it was LAN and of course LAN told me it was American Airlines fault. I had to have my mother call from the US and yell at them, eventually I was able to get another flight out of the country that night. Unfortunately, they removed me from the comfy LAN flight from Lima to Miami so I had to take American the whole way. When I got home I filled a complaint and they gave me $300 back.

Hellooo Im peruvian too, from Chiclayo and Right now Im living in Miami . Im on the k3 Visa just going to apply for AOS however I would like to ask some doubt that I have...

My husband soon is moving to SPain for work porpouses and of course the COmpany is taking care of the moving for both of us and the visa to europe as well...however We are worried and concern about how we do apply for my residency or USA AOS from there ... beside we have the i130 already approbed ..could we continue doing that paperwork from Spain? or I lost completly the visa...and i have to redo all over again..

I will really thanks allot if someone had the same experiencia and has the k3 visa...
