SusitaWe had an awesome time at Robert Moses, we usually go to Field 2.
Don't worry about the RFE, we got one when I was applying for my Permanent GC, after two years of living here, they wanted more proof of our marriage, I got SO upset and Sil too. But after we sent the extra documentation everything went fine.
Let me know when are you coming to the city maybe we can meet someday.
Peter 'n JamieDon't worry chica, I'm not upset or anything, I'm pretty pacific, hahaha.
I'm VERY jealous and I'll be upset if I see girls trying to hit on Sil. As I told you before, we had some incidents in the past, once we went dancing and I had to leave to go to the bathroom and two girls were trying to start a conversation with him, when I saw that I just remember that I felt fire coming out from me

and wanted to kicked their .... but just said" 'EN ESTE MISMO MOMENTO DESAPARECEN" or " YOU BETTER DISSAPEAR RIGHT NOW "

I would love to get to know more about you, like how you met your hubby, how you liked Peru, etc. Would be cool, 2 Long Island girls marrying Peruvian guys. Awesome.
Vi ~ Glad you had fun! I need to make a trip out to the city I hope to get married there! Need to figure out all the details. I will definetely let you know though, k?

My mother was born in Brooklyn and I definitely know where Port Jefferson is, my grandmother lived there for a long long time. My Parents moved to the Adirondack park when I was 10. I don't know if you know it but its about 1 hour north of Albany.
I met my husband online at tribelwars.net its a little flash game. I was trying to kill him and he begged for mercy and its been love since then

How did you and your husband meet? When I was in Peru I only really saw Lima and I was there for two months! I really like how free people are there and I really want to see Machu Picchu and the jungle. What about you what areas did you see in Peru?

Very cool! I met Luis when I started my bachelors, I am just finishing up now. I am getting my BA in Hispanic Languages & Literature, Minor in Latin American & Caribbean Studies and Secondary Education Certification (a lot of stuff! LOL). Well, when I first started out, I was fluent but my spelling wasn't that great and also I was making a lot of errors when I was writing essays the first semester. So I started practicing in a chatroom that is called spanglish chat. Luis was trying to learn English and we were talking. He took my MSN name and then pretty much every day we talked on there. Nothing really happened till one day I was like, hey I have international minutes let's talk on the phone (I had bought a phone card to call my cousin overseas and still had credit on it).
Well, the rest is history. I've been to Peru 2 times, we talk on the phone at least an hour every day, and am almost done with school! Time flies! Luis proposed to me when I went to Peru last time. He threw an engagement party too without me even knowing that it was for that reason, it was really great. I was like, 'what were you going to do if I said no?' and he just laughed.
I stayed in San Bartolo, it was summer when I went so we went beach-hopping (Luis is really into surfing). We went to Santa Maria del Mar, Punta Negra, Punta Hermosa, etc. We stayed on the beach in an apartment in San Bartolo which was really nice. We went to Lurin, Lima (Miraflores, Ate - where his brother's business is, and el centro de Lima), Chosica (which is beautiful we had a really nice time there). It was really great. There's still a lot of places I want to see, Ayacucho, Arequipa, Huancayo etc. I didn't get to go last time. There will be chances in the future though!
How did you like living in Peru for 2 months? I was there for almost one month. What do you do for a living here in the USA? How old are you? (I know this isn't 21 questions, haha) I'm just curious & bored at work.

So you will be teaching? Spanish or history I presume? What do you do now? My husband is trying to teach me Spanish but I am just very bad at it and have so little time to study!! I am also trying that rosetta stone program. None of his family speaks English so I really want to learn Spanish!
How was Peru during the summer? If everything runs smoothly we should have our interview in Lima during their summer. I am so afraid of going during the summer!! I went at the end of April and it was so hot and I got badly sunburned.
Right now I am a full time Master's student getting a degree in Library Science. I had to quit my job when I went to Lima to get married because they would not give me a leave of absence. So currently unemployed but have a bunch of job interviews this week.

I am 26. My time in Lima could have been better. For some reason I was very sick there and normally I never even catch colds! But at least I got a first hand view of the Peruvian health care system
Oh take a look at this tee shirt. I think you will enjoy it:

We filled the I-130 in the same month so looks like our time lines will be very similar!! Good luck to both of us

Have they cashed your check yet? I had a problem with my address so I can't track my I-130 until they cash it

Erika's the same way. She hardly ever leaves my side when we're in public. She is
very possessive...which I think is a great thing

It's one of the things I love about Erika. To me, her being possessive just shows that she really values our relationship.
One night we were out with my family at a restaurant. I was the sober driver, and Erika had drank a few. She had gone to the bathroom, which I didn't know because she was up and running around with our niece and nephew. I felt feminine hands running through my hair, so I assumed it was Erika. Then I saw Erika coming back from the bathroom and thought UH-OH! This isn't going to be pretty. I turned around and saw it was some drunk lady with big boobs in a tight dress who was running her hands through my hair. I told her to stop. Erika struts over with steam coming out of her ears, and I explain to her that I thought it was her behind me. So up until we left, Erika kept giving drunk woman the evil eye and telling her "Don't touch my husband!!" (in her sexy accent

). As we were leaving, Erika (being a teeny bit drunk) started calling her some pretty naughty words in English

...it was the most fire I had ever seen from her! Her face was completely red

The drunk woman was too scared to look at Erika. My family thought it was quite entertaining to see Erika put the drunk woman in her place.

LOL that's funny.
I don't think neither Luis nor I are that jealous, the only thing was that in Peru he almost got into fight because someone was hitting on me, but to the point that it was so disrespectful that he just freaked out.
So we are jealous with reason, I guess you could say. If a girl was running her fingers thru his hair, I'd be pretty ticked off too.

To be honest I had a few weird experiences here too. I use to have this super coold friend in my former job, we used to have really intereresting conversations about Peru and books (two of my passions) and he ended asking me to leave my husband and marry and then move to Peru with him. Tell me if that is not freaky?????
He started kind of stalking me but I didn't want to tell Sil until it got to the point when I had to tell him, but he is very calm so he handle the situation.
Some of my clients invite me for drinks or lunch and things like that (of course I NEVER accept), even when I'm wearing my engagement ring and WEDDING RING. There's no respect, and when I tell Sil he just laughs.
Good night people

Vi ~ hahaha... your husband seems very secure of your relationship & that is great. Plus it's probably a compliment to him because his wife is so hot all these guys want to take her out, lol.
When I was in Peru, I got hit on a couple of times and one time by a guy at a party who kept asking me if he could touch my hair?? Luis finally put him in his place and there was almost a fight. His sister told me that most guys down there are fascinated with blonde hair. I told her to tell them to get a bottle of peroxide and leave me alone, LOL.

Veroka you were in cleveland recently????!!!!!!

We need to get together soon. We found another market here with TONS of peruvian stuff.
Wish we knew. Erika had to close Machu Picchu because of the construction. It was just impossible for her to get any customers down there. We were really upset when we found out.
Katherine and I just had our 1 year anniversary on the 20th. Ironically we were down in Columbus for it

. Her sister came up on an exchange student work visa and is here for three months (leaves in march). That has been a really stressful time unfortunately, but we are working through it.
We are finally pretty settled into the house, still need to get some furniture, but everything is pretty much in place. I setup the new bed I finished building last night. Kathe is working full-time now and is really starting feel more "at home" now that she can be more self-sufficient with the job and driver's license. I can't wait until we get to go back to Peru, as we are currently planning for the first of May.
Glad to see all the new miniVJrs are doing good! Congrats everybody!

Our boy is 14 months, almost 15... I am not sure how we will make it in the flight... I've already been to Cusco and Mancora, so I was hoping we could see some parts of Peru that we've never seen. What would be good during December? I've been thinking about Huaraz, Paracas, and Lake Titicaca, but we're open to all kinds of suggestions. Also, we're trying to decide between plane and bus. Any suggestions there?

We always fly with Lan but the prices are astronomical, they around $2500 for Christmas time, good luck searching.
We are back home, the weather in NYC is pretty nice, the flight was excellent, the bad part was to say good bye, always extremely sad, it' s SO hard to say good bye to my family but I might go back by myself in January dependig in what the doctor says.

Give COPA Airlines and Spirit Airlines a try for tickets.
Copa is out of Miami and Spirit is out of Ft. Lauderdale

I just checked LAN from Miami to Lima, round-trip, traveling on Dec. 17th and coming back Dec. 31st, with taxes, is only $660. Continental, on the other hand, is pretty outrageous around Christmas time. Last time I checked with them, they were charging around $2500 or so.

It might sound stupid but my dear HUBBY just likes to fly direct, is more convenient for us. If I go by myself in January I'll go by COPA, is juts one stop in Panama for less than one hour.

Will anyone be in Peru between October 5th and January 23rd? My wife will be down there during that time, visiting family. It's gotten a lot better, but she's still homesick. I'll be down there the last two weeks or so of December. If anyone is interested in a Lima meet-up, let me know.

She's going to Peru for almost 4 months, lucky her. Right now I couldn't do that because of my pregnancy and beacuse I have to work.
Sil won't be so happy If I go there for a long period of time, once I went to Peru three days -yes, just 3 days- before Sil and you had to see the scene at the airport, it was very sad.
Good luck to your wifey, I think I'm going in January (9th-24th).

Hi Vi
Congratulations again on being pregnant. How did Sil react when you told him ???? I am sure he is excited and nervous as I was.
Thanks for asking.... we are all ok. The hurricanes thank god have not hit us directly..... We've been very lucky so far this season..... The past 2 days has been very very windy 30 to 40 MPH winds from Ike that is over 200 miles to our south.
We had a good time in Lima....... tried new flavors of Pisco Sour's (Coca, Mango) that were very good... Never tried those before. I can't remember the name of place that you go to have them... It is a very popular place and very very busy. Also went to (I think it's called Pizza Street) the first night there after my flight got in around 1:00 a.m. Interesting place that I had never been to before.
We rented an apartment for the time I was there so Rossy and I could have some time alone while her Mom looked after Sebastien for us.
Don't know when we'll get back there again as the next time we go it will be 3 air tickets. I think Rossy's Mom will come here for visit before we head back there. And as I like to travel while in Peru we have to look into side trips as well and those $$$ add up quickly.

I'm glad everything is good with you guys.
Sil was in shock for the first two days, my mom as you can imagine was in heaven 'cause this baby is going to be my parents first grandchild, she wanted to announce it on tv and newspapers that she is going to be a grandma. Then we announced it to my entire family during my b-day party (around 80 people) and everybody screamed as if Peru won the Worls cup (we all know that will never happen).
Sil is very, very excited, right now he is reading a "The new age baby name book" 'cause we are not agreeing with a name.
He wants to tell everybody here in the States but I prefer to wait until the 3rd month, I know, I know I sound crazy.
I had just a few Pisco Sours 'cause then we found out that I was pregnant and nobody allowed me to have any alcohol

, you don't remember the name of the place, let me see.. maybe "Huaringas" or "El Tayta"??? just guessing..
Well my friends gotta go, I have to call Peru...

I went to Tayta the first night of my first trip to Peru, right off the plane!!! I think we were there until the sun came up. That place was very cool

But the last time I was down there, Erika and I walked by it during the day and it was shut down

Yes, I'm not feeling me, I'm feeling so weird, I'm super emotional, I have what we call in Peru "Mamitis Aguda", I want my mommy!!!! I'm crying alot because I'm missing her too much but yesterday she had a seriuos conversation with me and reminded me that if I'm sad all the time that will affect my baby and there is nothing to worry about because mom and dad are coming in April and staying with us for a while.
+ I have no energy to go to the gym, that's so weird....
Melissa I have a question, I remember that you traveled to Peru when you were pregnant, how far were you in your pregnancy? because my family want to see me and they are inviting me to go in January, you think that will be ok?? I know that my doctor has the last word but what do you think?
That's it for now, we are celebrating that Peru didn't loss against Argentina yesterday, we thought they were going to beat us.
Take care people

Hello all!
I have a question regarding the documents for the CR1/IR-1 path. I am stuck in Vermont but want to get some of my documents ready. If I understand correctly these are the documents that I need:
Cover Letter
DS-230
Birth Certificate
Court and Prision Records (Antecedentes Judiciales a Nivel Nacional)
Deportation Records (N/A)
Marriage Certificate
Military Records (Certificado de Antecedents Judiciales y/o Penales" issued
by the "Consejo Supremo de Justicia Militar)
Photo copy of his passport
Police Certificates (Certificado de Antecedentes Policiales, Certificado Policial, Certificado de Antecedentes Penales)
Two Photographs
Copy of the I-130 Packet
Does this look right to you? Also how long are the three police certificates valid for? Thanks!!

Im sorry you are not feeling yourself, well... it is something that happens when we become mommies... you wont be yourself until your kids move out, hehehe... once they are born mommies devote themselves to them and forget about everything that doesnt involve them. I think it is natural...

I traveled when I was between 21-22 weeks pregnant, doctors recommend that you dont travel after the 25th-26th week... of course it depends on how you are doing and all that... my mom made sure that I had an ultrasound before I left so they could see if the placenta was high enough not to be a risk. Another thing to take in consideration are the blood clots, you want to make sure you walk quite a bit when youa re in the plane and that you drink lots of water... because it will help you not retain liquids, which has to do with the swollen feet and all that.
April 26th!! How exciting!! You will be a mommy by mother's day!!!

Have you been shopping yet?? I have a MUST-HAVE list of things... and a NEVER-BUY one... hehehe... I have learnt a lot! Hehehe...
Keep us posted!!
Hugs!

No idea regarding the documents you need as I went trough the K-1 process over three years ago... but I am pretty sure the police certificates are valid for 90 days. Good luck!!
