I was just wondering around Vj and saw your post, for some reason it ididnt send me the alert someone had replied here... anyway... do you have a cell phone under your name?

I got one on TMobile(July 05) two months after I moved here, got a couple bills under my name at home... and by november 05 I capital one approved me for a credit card with a $500 limit... now, I have several credit cards with over $2000 credit limit...

About the secured credit card, make sure you check with them in 8-12 months about upgrading it to an unsecured credit card, otherwise you will be stucked paying interest on your own money... I see people at the bank(where I work) having secured credit cards forever, and they just dont take the time to talk to someone on the phone and get their deposit back...

Getting ready for turkey??? me too, I'm not going to cook this year, we are invited to Sil's parents house and on friday we will try to go shopping very early in the morning, I'm pretty excited because is the first "Black Friday" when I don't have to work.

I finally got a credit card about a month ago, I've been very responsible about it, thank you for your advice Melissa!!, be sure thta I will be calling my bank to check on my credit, they told me thta in about 6 motnhs I can apply for a "Real" Credit card and I can get my money back.

I still waiting for my Green card, 6 months and nothing!!!

Congratulations Tracy, a little boy, but are you sure is just one? I imagine how happy Luis and his family are.

We had a great dinner, but honesly to see the turkey and the family reunited made me think about my family and that made me a bit emotional .
I still full from yesterday and today we went shopping, we left the house at 6am and almost finish with our Christmas list, we got some amazing deals and we are very happy about that.

My name is Martin and i was born here but my parents are from PERU from a small town names Pisco, close to ICA.. I met my wife in Peru and she is from Chepen, a small town close to Chiclayo and married her over there. I filed for her in April 24th 2007 with the I130 and last week i sent the DS230 part 1 and 2. I dont know what is next. Also what type of proof would i need for the interview? I have made many trips to peru this year alone. Most of my trips are weekend trips since Work does not allow many days off. Do you think my passport with all my entries to peru is enough? What else would i need. What do they ask?


Also I am divorced, I met my first wife here, after 2 years i gave her papers since she was an illegal. Then the 4th year she left me. Then i met my present wife and petitioned. Will this be a problem at the interview???

Any advise would be helpful

Awsome, must feel great to have that card on the way to you. We have to start the process in the 1st quarter of 2008. I'm sure I may ask questions as I did for our K-1 process which you helped us alot with.

Melissa : Lucky, you, we are having some "technical" problems with my Permanent Green card, they gave us a RFE and now we have to send them more proofs, can you believe that???, Oh well, we will be sending more documents maybe the next week, this time I'm planning to send at leats 10 affidavits.

I thought we were going to have to go this way but my husband got approved for a Bank of America Efectiva card with a limit of 1000 dollars...and he pays it off every month so pretty soon I'm sure his credit will be better than mine heh!

Actually I got it in the mail yesterday! I am so excited to see that expiration date... 2017!!!

That is so weird!

What kind of proof did they want? We sent like 20 pictures and only two affidavits, no trip tickets or anything like that... maybe a baby's birth certificate does make a difference to them... WEIRD!!!

Little Sebastien Joshua is due any day now. The official due date is Dec 23rd but I don't think we're going to make it till then.

Her Mom arrives this Wednesday and she is very excited.

Melissa: It's funny that you mention that, I told Sil about your green card to we both imagine that your little boy makes a big difference, I keep teasing him, if we have a baby by now we won't be dealing with this GC fiasco. We sent a bunch of documents but didnt't make them happy, so we are gathering more documents.

MandyR: Imagine how happy, and excited your wifey is, her mommy is coming to the States!! and is going to be a great help.

It seems that this is the year of the boys, Melissa had a boy (Little Christopher), you are having a boy and Tracy is having a boy too.

I called the NVC today and i was hoping to hear that my interview was schedulled but instead it said i was missing documents.

I iwated for the operator and i was told i had to have the 3 police certificates TRANSLATED! I never knew this :'( now i have to wait for the sheet wthe barcode and resend it all and now i probably have to wait another month! ARGGGGGGG

Another Peruvian /American baby is here........ Sebastien Joshua arrived December 19 at 8:20am / 7lbs 2oz /19 inches.
The little guy and Mom are doing great. He was ready to come out head first but in the last week he decided to do a 180 degree turn and become a little breach guy. So Mom had to have the C-Section done.

Veroka you were in cleveland recently????!!!!!! We need to get together soon. We found another market here with TONS of peruvian stuff.

Wish we knew. Erika had to close Machu Picchu because of the construction. It was just impossible for her to get any customers down there. We were really upset when we found out.

Katherine and I just had our 1 year anniversary on the 20th. Ironically we were down in Columbus for it . Her sister came up on an exchange student work visa and is here for three months (leaves in march). That has been a really stressful time unfortunately, but we are working through it.

We are finally pretty settled into the house, still need to get some furniture, but everything is pretty much in place. I setup the new bed I finished building last night. Kathe is working full-time now and is really starting feel more "at home" now that she can be more self-sufficient with the job and driver's license. I can't wait until we get to go back to Peru, as we are currently planning for the first of May.

Glad to see all the new miniVJrs are doing good! Congrats everybody!

Veroka nice picture from your last trip!. It might sound crazy but I'm already looking for tkts for Christmas, Sil thinks that I'm crazy and we should wait a little bit 'cause the prices are little bit to high ($1800) and I agree with him. We had a little dilema beacuse my parents want to come to visit us in August but I already promised Sil that we are going on vacation ( our second honey moon), so I had to tell them that next year because I can't take so much time off from job.

Yes, Patterson is full of peruvian restaurants and NYC too. I'm happy 'cause I just found out that they are selling Inca Kola in my super market.

Baby is doing GREAT, thanks for asking. Getting bigger every day. He will be 3 months this coming weekend.

We haven't been back to Peru since this time last year. Rosa did go in September for a quick 4 day trip to buy LOTS of baby clothes.

Rossy's Mom was here from Lima for 3 months to help out. She was an amazing help to us.

We are also planning a trip over Christmas / New Year to Peru.

You should definately wait on buying those tickets.

Just an update... we are back from Peru... we had a great time... my parents got to spend tons of time with the baby which made them very very happy... they sent us away to Cuzco for a few days, so we got to spend some time without worrying about diapers, bottles and schedules... it was nice!!Now are are back home... back to reality...
