so I had my biometrics past week. Wow it went different then i expected. The later stated no electric equipment were alowed to be taken into the building. So I imagened it a bit like in Amsterdam that your bag get checked and you hand in your cellphone and get it back after.
So I went into the building. No securety. Just some bored guy sitting behind the desk. needed to write down my name and time of appointment. He looked at my appointment letter told me to fill out a form bring that to the next desk. So i did and I could get finger printed right away. No body was waiting there. Talked a bit with the guy and I asked if he had an idea how long it would take for me to get my interview date. he said that most peeps who come for the biometrics have the date already but I could expect it within a month.

And guess what was in the mail. My interview date is at august 15th. Need to bring all kinds of stuff. And my husband.
Nathans interview is 30 min prior to mine ;-) I am so happy but also a bit nervous.
SoL.
Congrats Jacky on your interview date! And it must be great to be done with those biometrics good.gif Good luck with the interview! smile.gif

I sent my AOS/EAD package today... And of course I am all nervous expecting a RFE, even tho I followed the guides and instructions... unsure.gif Hope I didn't miss anything!

Hope everyone else is doing fine star_smile.gif

I just wanted to send a quick update. Last Friday we received an email saying his permenant resident card was being requested and welcome ot america. I thought it was a mistake since we did not have an interview. But after some research on VJ, I came across other people who had the same experience. So today we received the greencard in the mail. Last week we recieved the work permit. This part of the process has gone differently then I thought. Of course I am not upset. Feels great the have a nice suprise.

jackybeertje
oh wow ur so lucky. Congratz on the card and looks like you could have safed your money for your workpermit as well.
Arazia
Just a small update. I've been mostly busy over in the AOS forums posting up timelines for the May filers, but I figured we might mention things here as well. After being married on the 14th of April, Ranmaru and I filed for our AOS and it was received at the Chicago Lockbox in early may.

We were approved a few weeks ago for his greencard, in almost record time. It took 51 days from NOA1 to greencard approval. We're planning on going back to visit his family in the Netherlands over spring break next year. Even though we've been scarce on this forum since our K-1, I just want to thank everyone for being so supportive.

One year and eight months before the next step (removal of conditions). Hope everyone else is doing well.

Not much news here. My part time job is slowing down a bit work wise, so I really picked up on my search for a full time job again. I 'll even take on another part tme job if it would work out that way. Besides that I am enjoying another summer here in Florida. Can't believe I have already been here for a full year.....time flies!

Well take care all and those of you who are done for now.....stay in touch!

@ Rhonda: gratz on his new job.

And for me this was in my email this morning: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.

The interview went real smooth. I didnt have to show any evidence at all. She only said that Andrew didn't make enough, but he starts a new job friday so we showed her the contract with his salary and problem was solved.
She didnt even look at our vacination supllement.
She asked when and were we met. Why he loves me and why I love him. What kind of wedding and were was the reception. Witch family members of mine he met and who I met of his.
And she checked the info on the forms. That was about it.

So I am a very happy camper right now :-D
SoL.
Congrats Jac!!! kicking.gif Those are great news!!!! biggrin.gif

Rhonda, congrats on Wilmot's new job! good.gif good.gif

Pieter is having his biometrix this Thursday. Let's see how that goes. smile.gif

Can anyone here tell me if our consulate has special requirments that need to be met when it comes to the I-129F petition ?

I heard that

- my sponsor would need at least 125% of poverty level (how much is that ?? yearly / hourly ??)
- he/she has to have payed taxes over that for at least 3 years.

Others state that you only need to have the first, and as long as the consular officer is convinced that its sustainable.
Say thats true, how do you convince the consular officer that it is sustainable /?

My fiancee is still a student.
She did work for one and the same company for the last five years during her study.
She also had a nanny job which is not a taxable income ...

But she will graduate soon and then she will have a fulltime job. Not necesarilly straight away one she needs her degree for, but still enough to reach the 125%+

Any thoughts???
jackybeertje
welcome to our little corner.
For the k-1 visa, I remember that my So didnt have to make the 125% yet. it is btw different per state and it is per month. She needs to make 125% after you are married and you file for AOS in the states.
My hubby didnt make the 125% the past 3 years but last week with proof of his new job and his new income it was enough.
MarkSchot
So your saying she doesnt even need 125% ??

uh oh ... another option ... unsure.gif

But ...
you also said 'state' and 'month'

How about : we file the papers next week .... at USCIS Nebraska ... because she is from Colorado ...

Will that help you help me ?? blush.gif helpsmilie.gif
jackybeertje
with the I-134 you file for the k-1 visa she doesn't have to prove yet that she makes 125% of the poverty thing. But it will all say in the papers.
That part comes after marriage when you file for AOS. Then it will be $17,112 a year that she has to make. And after you get married and she doesn't make the requirements then you can take a co sponsor.
SoL.
Hi everyone! star_smile.gif

A little update, we received 3 letters from USCIS today! Two were receipts for the AOS + EAD payments and the other one that our file has been transferred to CSC. Hope that is good news! kicking.gif

Jac,

How's everything with your new job? good.gif

Hope everyone else is doing fine!!! smile.gif

Hugs,

jackybeertje
My new job is great. But i am real tired in the evening. Not used to working full-time. But I totaly love it.

Nathan and I got our greencards in the mail today :-)
marieke
hi all!

i was wondering if ayone knows the cost of vaccinations in holland. also, i have my vaccination book from years ago, will that help? my insurance right now only covers €75 worth. should i upgrade it?
thanks!
jackybeertje
hi marieke; i don't remember how much it was. Your vaccination record will help, that will proof that you don't need to many vaccins. You need to go to a special doctor in a'dam whom is assigned by the consulate and insurance doesn't cover that as far as I know.
marieke
really? i chose the additional vaccination insurance package from my incurance company. well i'll try to find out, i dont want to pay extra for nothing! thanks!
marieke
are all the dutchies approved? theres no one here!
jackybeertje
most of us are in the us already and some of us have our greencards already. It has been kind of quiet lately.
Let me know if your insurance pays for the vaccins.
Seska
Hallo allemaal smile.gif

Hello Newbies good.gif devil.gif star_smile.gif .....welcome to out little Dutch corner on here!

I haven't been here for a while.....busy, busy, busy, especially now that I have started a new job (full-time this time).....which I love by the way.....I work with great people and I have loads of fun every day (oh yeah, the pay is good too.....lol laughing.gif )

Marieke, I'm not exactly sure any more what I paid for my medical but I think it was close to 300 euros. I know we talked about it in this thread before so maybe you already found out how much you have to pay.

Edi, good luck with the AOS and EAD.....hopefully it will be a smooth ride for you guys!. Me.....still waiting for my AOS crying.gif wacko.gif crying.gif .....sighhhhh. I called th USCIS and I actually got tmy phonecall transfered from the call centre to a field agent, but al she could really tell me, or advice me rather, was to make an infopass appointment in Orlando. With me just started a new job, I can't take time off right now ' cause it will go against me or something like that (they are strict about this), so for now I just have to wait and hope and pray that someone at USCIS/CSC wil give me my bleeping approval.....it's about time!!!!!

Jackyyyyy rose.gif.....see you on msn soon again! rose.gif

Take care all! rose.gif

Hi, I'm new to the little Dutch corner. Actually I'm not Dutch! ohmy.gif I'm a Brit but I live in NL so my K1 will go via A' dam. We got our NOA2 yesterday (YAY!!) so now we're waiting for NVC and ultimately more papers to fill in. I have a few NL-specific questions:

- is there a packet 3 AND a packet 4 in NL? What can we do to prepare for them coming? Is it too early for my fiance to fill out the I-134 etc.? (We also have a cosponsor)

- can I get my huisarts to do my vaccinations for me, rather than the consulate doctor? A legal adviser told me not, but this just seems weird to me. It seems silly to pay so much extra for the exam doc to do them when my huisarts can do the same thing and I can claim them on my health insurance... I'm also not very keen on injections so don't want them being done just before I have my interview as I might not feel too great. Does anyone have any suggestions what I should do?

Thank you!! smile.gif
