Hi Michele, you're more than welcome to join us on this thread and it definitly needs to be brought back to life biggrin.gif. No interview date for me (Em) just yet. The I134 has been giving us some headaches, but looks like that some time next week I will finally be able to send back the checklist to the Consulate and hopefully they will be able to scedule me for an interview soon.....fingers crossed. Hope you guys will get your NOA2 real soon too! smile.gif

Hi Em biggrin.gif
We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for you! good.gif Although I am sure everything will be fine for yourself and Ed biggrin.gif

Please let us know all about it when you have been for your interview smile.gif

I hope we get an NOA 2 soon!
It does " seem" that TSC/CSC is moving again, although I think it's only a matter of time before they sloooow down again wacko.gif
It's times like this, I wish I lived in Vermont and not Texas!
It's the waiting that is the hardest part...However; I really believe that things really start to move fast once the NOA2 comes through.

Thanks for replying, and all the star_smile.gif best wishes for a speedy and NO hassle interview schedule and appointment! star_smile.gif

Well, the checklist will (finally) be in the mail this week, so if they reply as fast as they've done with all the other stuff hopefully by this time next week I will know when my interview date is. Any updates on your case Michele?

I totally agree with you, the waiting is the hardest part. Actually, it totally sucks. We are able to talk and see each other almost on a daily base, via msn and webcams, but still nothing beats the real -in the flesh- thing. But oh well, not much longer now, before the waiting will finally be over.

Keep us up to date on your progress! good.gif

Any news on your case yet? Don't you just wish you could put them under some kind of spell and get that NOA2 to you right away? I always say that after the whole K1 waiting game, I will never complain again if I have to wait in line for what ever for like 5 minutes or so laughing.gif

By the way, I pick a really great time to fly to the States, some time in the middle of huricane season. wacko.gif Hopefully it won't be as bad as they predict this year.

Hi Em!

I keep checking the USCIS status page-because CSC/TSC are actually starting to approve NOA 1's in MARCH now!!!!!!! kicking.gif
biggrin.gif I have a feeling that approval is coming soon for us! biggrin.gif

Have you got your interview date yet?
Please let us know when it arrives!

I know when I get the NOA 2-the very next day I am mailing Mark all the papers he needs from me-EXPRESS!

Where in the States are you moving?

I know what you mean about the hurricane season. Not looking forward to that at all! unsure.gif

Keep updating!

Hiya Michele,

Still no news on the interview date I'm afraid. I keep checking my mail box, but sofar nothing sad.gif. It's freaking me out a little since all the other things were sent to me 2-3 days after I sent the stuff to them. If I haven't heard anything from them by the weekend I'll definitly email them.

Wow, that's cool that they start to approve March cases. I'm sure it won't be long for you guys anymore now! Fingers crossed..... good.gif

I'll be moving to the space coast in Florida. Hopefully no major hurricanes will pass through there (or anywhere else) this year. Where will you and Mark be living?

By the way, how come Mark is not dropping by anymore in this thread and did he have any luck with finding out the information about the medical stuff? (oh, I am so curious.....lol tongue.gif )

HI biggrin.gif
Mark will be back as soon as his ISP is up and running at his new address...Wish they would hurry up and get it online-phone bills are bigger and bigger now-and NO WEBCAM! crying.gif
As far as I know he has all the info he was asking about the vaccinations ( you know...back when Mijndert said his doc was a "quack"*chuckle*), he seems to be fairly well ahead on...However; I bet when he is back online, he will be posting questions! Anyway-I have all my papers ready to send ( apart from the NOA 2 of course whistling.gif ), and I just wish they would HURRY UP! mad.gif

I live in Texas ( another area affected by hurricanes), about 2.5 hours East of Dallas. It's only May and it's already HOT here!

You know, I was thinking of posting this in Dutch......but then my Dutch is still not that great. I can translate pretty well, but when i have to speak, I can't seem to find the words wacko.gif
And I have the problem with the rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr's ( Mark says most people who speak English as their main language do)-I end up sounding like a cat with a furball! wacko.gif

Oh well, you can be sure as soon as I have the NOA 2 I will be calling Mark and posting on here! biggrin.gif

Got to go

Ah, so Mark can't connect to the internet.....yikes, I can imagine your phonebills must be sky high. We always use the webcams and very rarely we use the phone. It saves so much money. Hope things will be back online for you guys soon!

Ed's also having problems with the 'r' when he tries to speak Dutch. Also the 'sch' and 'g' are causing him some problems. But all in all he's not doing too bad on trying to speak Dutch.

Not long now for you two!
You must be thrilled!
Please let us know how it all goes!

I think our petition is going to be delayed for a short while because they have recently implemented a new law that requires fiance petitions to clear extra checks....but we have waited this long-and I am sure it won't delay it much longer; we are not that worried. If we get angry and frustrated, it just seems to make the waiting worse....Plus it is not just us-it's everyone, so no point in complaining, really.

Congratulations again! good.gif

Michele smile.gif

Em&Ed
Well, I am all ready and set for the interview and medical.....lol, bring it on. wink.gif laughing.gif I paid the visa fee within minutes after reading all the forms (woohoo for internet banking) so that's already taken care off. I also withdrew the money for the medical and xray since it's got to be paid in cash. I'm really excited that it's finally coming to an end now.

I read about the delay for petitions with a NOA1 after march 6(?), 2006. That really sucks sad.gif . I really hope you guys won't have to wait too long (I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you guys).

Oh, I know all about the frustrations that can creep in while waiting. I've been real stressed out at times and even after we got our NOA2 I've been stressing about all the things that have to be taken care off. Ed's been a real support though and so has my family. They even offered to clear out my apartment and stuff for me if I can find a plain ticket on a short term after I get the visa. I've already thrown a lot of my stuff away (mostly junk that needed to go anyway). Apart form clothes, pictures and one of my cats I won't take any of my stuff with me. I'm planning on giving most of my stuff to my family, the salvation army or to second hand stores and I might try to sell some things. It doesn't really bother me, it's just stuff and it's all replaceable (although having to leave one my cats behind is crying.gif )

Hi OyenJames and Iceyspots smile.gif Dutch is really not that difficult biggrin.gif .....if you have spoken it all your life laughing.gif If you have to learn it at a later age it's probably not all that easy, but then again, if I had to learn Chinese or Italian for example I would be like.. err, what's this too wink.gif
tmma
Hi all biggrin.gif

Dutch is NOT easy to learn wacko.gif !!!!!!!!
When Mark talks to his family and friends, sometimes whole conversations sound like one loooong huge word....I am sat wondering when he is going to take a breath!
Honestly, though, the more I hear it spoken and see it written, the more familiar it becomes.

good.gif Em-your English is EXCELLENT! good.gif

Chinese...erm....no thanks! Isn't there alot of variations to Chinese? Personally I would like to learn Russian one day though......but Dutch has to come first!

Hi Em & Ed also Michele...

My grandma who is half dutch always forget that I don't speak dutch and only understand a few words such as "Ja, Nee, Dankjewel, How are you (don't know how to spell it in dutch), Alstublieft, Dag" laughing.gif But she and my father speaks fluent dutch. I would really love to learn more and someday be able to visit my grandma's relatives in Netherlands.
Em&Ed
Hi all smile.gif

Well, I just made my appointment for the medical and xray.....June 6, 2006. First I have to get the xray done at 9 am and at 10 am I will have to be at the doctor's office. It's all got be done in Amsterdam and well, that's not exactly around the corner for me since I live way up north.

I have to leave one of my cats behind. She's going to live with my sister though, so she will have a good home, but it still is crying.gif . I will take the other one with me. I would have loved to have taken them both with me, but they don't get along anymore (basically they are at war with eachother.....not a nice situation sad.gif ).

Tmma, Ed's kinda like you, the more Dutch he hears or sees written down, the more he seems to recognize certain words. Thanks for the compliment on my English blush.gif . Growing up with subtitled programms on tv + having to learn English at school since the age of 11 have certainly paid off smile.gif .

OyenJames, how are you = hoe gaat het met je (friend) / u (more polite way)

It must be difficult for you to leave your cat behind-but at least you know she is going to have a good home good.gif and no more fighting with the other cat smile.gif they'll maybe be happier with themselves that way too-sorry, I know this probably makes it no easier; but-just trying to be positive!

It really seems like things really move quickly now! makes a change after waiting and waiting and waiting.....

Hoi Michele

Yep, the medical and xray have to be done in Amsterdam and no other place. I live about 2.5 hours away from Amsterdam, so it's not that bad. It just takes a bit of planning and stuff + having to get up real early to get to the appointments on time and not getting stuck in morning traffic. One of my sisters already told me she'd like to come with me so we can do some shopping in Amsterdam after the medical, so that'll be fun biggrin.gif.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for you guys on getting that NOA2 soon now. Do you have any idea what the delay might be with these extra checks?

Hey Em,

Argh, I am a little confussed here. I know I should stop reading info and stuff and sit back and relax till the interview but I was surfing around a little and well, I all of a sudden started to get worried. Hi Em- smile.gif
Firstly I am so sorry you have had such a lousey day.....Hang on in there, ok? We all know the feeling! yes.gif

As for the Police Certificate and you "reading up on stuff"-all I can say is that follow the instructions the Consulate has sent. If they said it will be there ( at the Consulate)-then it will.
Remember Laurahlover? He has just interviewed in Amsterdam...He is still registered on VJ -why not send him a quick question about that-or give the Consulate a quick call on Monday? Just to put that worry out of your mind.
I am almost sure you just have a couple of those "pre interview nerves" ( that I am sure most people get). It's understandable-it takes so long to get to the point you and Ed are at; it must be nerve wrecking!
Just take a deep breath-try not to worry.
.... I wish I could be more help; but we are weeks and weeks behind you and we will probably be the ones asking LOADS of questions when it's our time! wacko.gif

Little arguements are a normal part of all healthy relationships, even though it sucks. This is a stressful time for all of us; and especially for you and Ed. Just keep in mind that this time NEXT MONTH you will have visa in hand! biggrin.gif YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEE biggrin.gif

As for us-touches but no NOA2 yet huh.gif The suspense is driving me nuts! wacko.gif

We'll keep you posted!
Stay in touch!
Michele smile.gif
Em&Ed
Hiya Michele star_smile.gif

I've decided not to read up on any more info because it's only driving me nuts laughing.gif wacko.gif blink.gif I did write an email to laurahlover though, just to be on the safe side wink.gif I know I read it correctly and did things all ok, but I guess it's just nerves that kick in from time to time.....so much is depending on this in a way so I guess it's just normal to go a bit blink.gif wacko.gif from time to time laughing.gif

Long distance arguments suck, but ah well, they're just a part of the whole thing I guess. But they sure make you sad.gif when they happen especially when you already had a bad day. We've already made up again though, we can never stay mad at each other too long.

I will be calling the vet on Monday so my cat can get all her shots done. The rabbies shot that she needs, needs to be done at least a month before departure so I might as well take care of that now. I'm still looking into which airline I want to take. Normally if I visited Ed I just went for the cheapest option and didn't really care if had to make a 1 stop on the way, but well, flying with a cat I'd prefer a direct flight into Orlando or Miami, but they do come with a cost.....Ah well, I still have some time to get all that stuff sorted. I'm not going to book a flight untill I have the visa in my hand anyway.

My fingers are still crossed for you guys on a speedy NOA2 now. I'm sure it won't be long now smile.gif

Untill next time.....take care.....

Pre interview nerves??? It's so understandable! I imagine Mark will be feeling that before his!I am going to be a basket case when it's time for the AOS interview-running around getting paperwork, etc etc etc!
The stress never ends! But it is SO worth it luv.gif
All I need is the NOA2-I have everything else ready to go to him as soon as we get it-but it seems the SC have stopped again wacko.gif
It will come through eventually..... whistling.gif

Hoi Em,

GEFELICITEERD met datte! good.gif

"Go Em,.. kicking.gif Go Em,... kicking.gif Go Em,.. kicking.gif Go Em... good.gif

Hey Michele,

Well, my cat survived the whole vet thing. Actually she behaved perfectly! (and she wasn't too pissed at me either when I got her home again laughing.gif ) She got 2 shots + the micro chip and her international animal passport. I will only have to get her checked again 3 days before I will leave this country, so for now the cat's been taken care off. An hour before I had to go to the vet the fire alarm went off in my apartment building so that freaked me out a little (the cat also, she can't stand the high pitched noise the alarm makes). It was a false alarm though, but still....argh.

You're right, the stress is definitly worth it, but it makes me feel like 20 years older at the moment laughing.gif Ed's also working a lot these days so our time online is a bit limited and that's not helping me a lot either. I understand it, but doesn't mean I like it sad.gif .

The reason for the hold up in petitions is that because now the US petitioner has also got to go through some form of criminal background check? I think I read that somewhere on this site, but I might be mistaken (I'm not reading a whole lot of info anymore these days due to the whole me freaking out over the police certificate thing laughing.gif )

Well, like I told Mark.....ik blijf voor jullie duimen!!!!! star_smile.gif
