Hello all! Arazia and Harry congrats on the NOA2! Edi...that was quick! I hope ours moves through quickly as well! Hoi Mel!
Ours was kindof "delayed" in our part because we took longer than average to gather the info from the checklist...

Since Pieter lived in Germany for two years, he also needed a police report from there and that took weeks

It actually takes just a few days to get the letter from the NL embassy after it leaves NVC!

So if you have yor info ready, it will be much quicker
Good luck to all of you and happy holidays!

.....Good to hear that the interview date is set for you guys! Good luck with it!

When does Pieter have his medical?
Mel

.....That's great that Rene will be with you for the holidays! And Edi is right, if you have all the stuff that is required for package 3 together it will move through pretty quick and you'll get the interview date in no-time.
Hope everyone else is doing great!
Take care

Hoi Em!
Pieter called today (12/13) to make the appointment for his medical with the doc that the Embassy told him to go, and right away they asked for his last name. When they found him on their list they said :
-Oh sure, could you come tomorrow morning?
-Er, not really...

(He is from Fryslân and the doc is by the Embassy in A'dam)
So he scheduled the medical appointment for next Monday @ 9:30 AM!

And then they said: Now call the XRay place and tell them you need an appt. for 8:30 AM. So quick! Amazing...
This process after the NOA2 has been pretty smooth, good luck to you all and please get your packet 3 stuff ready so you don't have to wait as muchas we did...
Wish you all a very happy holidays with your SO's! Have fun!!
liefde,
edi

Hi Em!
Pieter's medical went OK, now just waiting for the interview on January 17th..
Could somebody please tell me what documents they ask for @ the K-1 interview?

He has everything from the checklist but I was just curious on what evidence they may want to see

Hi Edi

..... Apart from the stuff on the checklist I took pictures, email print outs and some print outs of chat conversations with me. I just handed in all the stuff on the checklist and when they called my name for the interview they never asked me for any of the the other stuff I had. Still, just let him take some of the above mentioned things with him.....just in case you know.
Take care

Happy New Year everybody! I was not ready 2 go back to work again 2day,

the longer the weekend, the more tired I get.
What you guys did on New Years Eve? I stayed home, watching the Times Square Ball droppin' and after that, straight to bed, nothing fancy...
In a couple of weeks Pieter has his interview, we are just waiting to see how it goes....
My best wishes for all of you on the 2007 and wishing that time goes fast so we can be with our sweet other!

Not much to update, but here is one none the less...
Harry and I had a wonderful time this Christmas. He had no trouble with coming over here on the VWP and visiting for the holidays. We got the NVC approval the day that he arrived for his visit. His packet 3 arrived sometime around the New Year. I got together all the things he needs from me and sent them all back with him today. We'll probably start going through the packet 3 paperwork tomorrow.
Other than that, I'm very sad at the moment. It's hell having to say goodbye to the one you love. At least... I'm hoping that this will be the last time.
Hello to all! I hope you all had a Merry Christmas. Arazia, I can certainly understand. René was here for days during the holidays and everytime we have to say goodbye it seems to get harder. We hope for us that was the last time to say goodbye

On the brighter side of things, we are now waiting for his interview date!!
Happy New Year!

Hello all, hope everybody is doing good!!!
Arazia,
I am so glad that Harry didn't have any problems @ the POE with his VWP, and that you guys had a wonderful holiday season!!

I understand how you feel, like Mel said, every goodbye is harder and painful, I can tell you that too!

But you are so close, the Amsterdam consulate is very quick on giving interview dates

Pieter's time looks longer because we took waaay too much time getting the packet 3 stuff, we needed documents from Germany and that put us a bit behind...

I wish you good luck and hope you get your interview soon!
Mel: Hope you get your interview soon too!! We have 12 days to go... And I think I am more nervous than Pieter LOL...
See you guys soon!!

Harry sent off his packet 3 yesterday. There were some confusing parts that we had to reference the examples or read through some of the embassy threads to figure out (like the DS-156k asking for information you shouldn't send with but take to the interview instead). The only problem was that he forgot to attach the photographs to the DS-156 copies. We asked on the embassy forum if that is going to be a big problem or not, and the thread was pretty much ignored. Well, he sent the photos this morning with a letter giving the application number and that they were mistakenly left of the DS-156.
He has my I-134 documents already, but I forgot to make them in duplicate so he's had to make one additional copy of the support documents. Other than that, I sent the entire K-1 application packet with him when he went back to the Netherlands, as well as copies of the NOA1, NOA2, and NVC letter.
I guess now we sit on our rear ends and wait some more. Gotta love this hurry-up and wait game.

Hey everyone-Hope all is well!
--To answer your question about the AOS, Em..We live in the area controlled by the Dallas USCIS office. They are currently using a program for AOS called DORA. I think it means Dallas Office Rapid Adjustment (or something).
Anyway-we made our appointment online through infopass and we go there on Thursday and interview, fingerprint...etc all at once....apparantly they say a decision is made on the day and approval within weeks ( yeh THAT'S what they

We filed and paid online for EAD-and we are just waiting for biometrics on that.

Hoi!
Pieter called me from Amsterdam and everything went well with his interview, he was approved without any problems! He said that it was really easy and the interviewer was a very nice and funny dude. A few questions; they even looked at the pictures I sent with the 129F and that was it. A breeze!
When he saw the phone logs he almost fainted! He could not believe that we talk everyday on the phone...
I am just so happy by knowing that we finally finished this part of the process and we can move on to plan for our future. What a relief.
I wish the best of luck to all of you that are still waiting for the interview!

Edi & Pieter: Congrats! I hope Harry's interview goes as smoothly.
We got our packet 4 today. I'm having Harry scan the pages so I can look over things and see what needs to be done. The interview date is February the 13th. I'll know more once I get to see everything, I think.
I'm a little nervous because of Harry stopping his schooling. He talked to his dean today, who said that he'll have to start repaying that in two years. There's no definite amount for how much will have to be repaid, but his dean thinks it will be around 2500EU. I just worry about bills coming out of nowhere down the road.
Hope things are going well for everyone else.

Arazia,
Wow congratulations on Harry's interview date! It's really a breeze so he'll be fine. They ask for the required docs + just a few things and that's it. It went pretty much like the VJ NL Embassy reviews say.
Jac,
We don't have a date yet for his move, he is gonna talk with his boss tomorrow about how much time he will stay @ work plus he still needs to sell his house, pack and get rid of the junk. Plus what 2 do with all that furniture, OMG....

Hiya all, THANKS FOR ALL THE GOOD / WARM WISHES
<<<(lots of capitals just for Arazia!!!)
The AOS interview went smoooooooth!
They checked the whole packet, then they wanted the $325,- for the I-485 and $70,- for Biometrics which will be scheduled.
The questions they asked were pretty general like;
-Where / when & how did you two meet 1st time?
-How long did you know each other before you-(meaning me) asked her to marry you?
Ect, ect, ect,........basic / general questions dus.
We brought a ton of “Relationship-proof” with us,...but the officer that interviewed us hardly asked about it all, she only looked into a couple wedding pictures, and cards.
Apart from a “name check”,....we ARE APROOOOOVED!!!!!!!! wooooooooohooooooooo!!!
And,....oyeeeeah,....we did the biometrics for the EAD aswell,....woooooohoooooooooooooo!!!

Not much to update, but Harry has his medical and x-ray on the 24th. He's doing some weird stuff with it, and it makes me a little uncomfortable. Basically they said he could have his normal doctor fax the exam-doctor proof of vaccinations after the exam and the exam-doctor would fill that out later. And then his x-ray is at no specific time after the exam, something about them just calling up and him going over there. I've also brought up concerns about getting the copy of that vaccination worksheet, but he thinks he can just ask the exam-doctor to send him a copy when he sends the embassy a copy. It just makes me feel ill at ease.

Edit; Get harry to re-read the instructions for the medical
Arazia
Jan 23 2007, 09:19 AM
Jac / Mark:
Yeah, I know it sounds really weird, and that is why I'm uncomfortable with it. He has read the instructions. Basically, what happened is this:
He scheduled an appointment with his normal doctor on the 22nd. The normal doctor called back and said it might take an extra 2 days to get the vaccinations he needs (which would put it to the 24th). Somehow, messed up the dates in his head and scheduled the medical for the 24th.
When I pointed out the problem, he called them up and asked to re-schedule. They informed him that it was okay to have the doctor send them a fax verifiying he gets his vaccinations and they'd add it to his form after the exam. Then he called to make the x-ray, and they asked where he was coming from. He said Limburg. They said 'is it even possible to get here before the medical exam'. He said 'probably not'. And they said to just come after the medical exam.
At least that's my understanding of it. I don't like it, and it makes me incredibly nervous, but I can't do anything. He's not willing to reschedule anything because he believes that the people he spoke to know what they are doing and must have 'done this a thousand times before'.
Merf *sigh*

Mel,
Pieter’s interview was really easy and short. The CO asked for fotos but he told him that there were no recent ones because we have not seen each other after filing the petition.

But he brought phone records with him and the CO was Ok with that (Thank God!) The questions were like: “When did you meet? How many times have you seen each other? How long have you been engaged?” And that was about it. So it’s really quick and painless!!! It’s gonna be OK.
Arazia,
I talked to Pieter after reading your post and he said that his Doc made a copy of the form from the packet and certified that he was current and included it on the envelope for the A’dam exam Doc.
His XRay was before the exam but the radiologist was not there to read the Xray foto. They told him that they would call if something was wrong (thank God they didn’t call ) and that they would send everything to the embassy.
From what I understood from Pieter, I think as long as they send the vac records on time to the Adam doc for his medical, he’ll be fine. Good luck!!!!
Jac,
Pieter put the house for sale, let’s see how that goes. Most of the furniture he is giving it to a friend of his that needs an urgent furniture upgrade… So there goes that part!
He got his visa two days after the interview, WOW! That embassy rocks!
I hope everybody is doing great!!!

Arazia.....did Harry call the doctor in Amsterdam before sceduling an appointment with the xray clinic? It all sounds a bit weird to me. If I remember correctly I had to hand over my proof of vaccination and then the doctor's assistent filled out the vaccination worksheet and told me I needed one shot which I hadn't had before.
Well, they have finally 'touched' my AOS petition again, but no word on an interview date or anything else. My EAD is still in the works as well.....sigh, I am trying not to get (too) frustrated, but argh some days I just want to scream.....lol.
Take care all!
